Latest delay adds to chaotic rollout of Obama's health law

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The government's move to delay for some people a requirement to buy medical insurance raised new doubts about the already chaotic rollout of President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law, just days before an enrollment deadline.

In another technical setback on Friday for the main website for enrollment, HealthCare.gov, U.S. officials said it would be down for a few hours to repair an error that occurred overnight.

The Obama administration said late on Thursday that people who have had their insurance plans canceled because of new standards under health policy reforms may be able to claim a "hardship exemption" to the requirement that Americans have coverage by March 31, or face a penalty.

While several million people have received policy cancellations, U.S. officials estimate that fewer than 500,000 would be affected by this delay in the so-called individual mandate. The mandate is a core part of the 2010 Affordable Care Act, commonly called Obamacare, that aims to provide coverage to millions of uninsured Americans.

Republicans, who have opposed the health law all along as an unwarranted expansion of the federal government, quickly seized on the announcement as the latest sign that it is unworkable.

Doesn’t the “hardship exemption” give healthy young people a great excuse not to waste their money on these terrible plans? And won’t the ability of those fit customers to avoid overpaying for a product they neither need nor want make it even more likely that the lawless rollout of this evil law will fail?

I’m loving it.

It’ll be like Thanksgiving: If the little dweebs say one word about Obastardcare they’ll take a good one right across the lip from every adult in the room. They’ll line up for the chance.

“that aims to provide coverage to millions of uninsured Americans.”

Actually, that would be “extort millions of uninsured Americans into buying coverage”.

Just day before yesterday, at the good-ol-boys round table salon and tea & crumpets society conducted at our local country propane and hay store, we were reviewing possible future scenarios regarding the devolution of obamacare and obama. I posited the following:

1. That if the Republicans would just twiddle their thumbs pretty much about everything for next 3-4 months, obamacare would become so unraveled that the Democrats would be forced to beg the Republicans to save them, and that regardless of any legislative changes that might thereby result in a bipartisan fashion, obama would veto it all, preferring to see the complete destruction of the medical system and the needless deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, as well as the total destruction of the Democrat Party for at least two generations, rather than admit he was wrong about something.

2. That it was highly likely that obama would soon totally panic over the chaos wrought by obamacare and descend into utter lawlessness by attempting to govern completely by diktat, and that therefore there was also a reasonable probability that obama’s attempted dictatorship would eventually become so severe that Congress would be forced to initiate impeachment.

It would appear that this second prediction is now already starting to come true.

Oh brother! No one, not even a GOP controlled Senate starting in 2015, will impeach this POSPOTUS.

FORGET KEEPING CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS, THE OBAMAS ARE HELL-BENT ON SAVING HIS PRESIDENCY, AND HER POLITICAL (hello, Hillary) AMBITIONS In a spine-tinglingly creepy scene in the Oval Office, the Obamas lectured mothers on the need for indoctrination. Convincing young adults that they are not invincible is “our job as mothers,” the First Lady said. “Make it a Christmas treat around the table to talk about a little health care. Ring in the New Year with new O/Care coverage.”

TRANSLATION "Frankly, its a big problem. Sasha and
Malia say the Sidwell school crowd would rather have
unprotected sex with Adam Levine than sign up for Obamacare.

.....insurers calculated premiums on the expectation that relatively healthy folks already buying insurance privately would be buying on the O/Care exchanges. The insurers are not happy about Obama's latest delay --- the 14th, thus far----announced Friday before he flew off to Hawaii. Insurers will probably ask for more money via O/Care's cockamamie “risk corridors” provision......

That means taxpayers will subsidize more and more of this boondoggle:

<><> insurance companies,

<><> those hustled onto Medicaid (the O team ditched the Asset Test),

<><>subsidies for enrollees who "say" it's unaffordable,"

<><>BIG BUCKS for little-used state exchanges, AND,

<><> $$hundreds of millions for Michele's dumbo Princeton pal's flopola website.

I'm not too sure about that. I believe the insurance companies were in complete agreement with Obamacare because they seen a way to make billions. I feel that no matter how hurt the Americans have been, King Obama will bail out the insurance companies like the Auto industry.

I partly disagree. The insurance companies are complicit in the deal, but Obama has no love for them, and he isn't a trustworthy partner in political crime. The insurance companies, unlike the auto companies, are not unionized.

However, Obama still needs them. There is no other way to channel payments to providers from a cash pool that is currently operative. So, he'll hold them hostage through the law they helped him create, but likely kill them later in a push for single-payer, if he can.

“... So, he’ll hold them hostage through the law they helped him create, but likely kill them later in a push for single-payer, if he can.”

How familiar that sounds. Rings of the same pejorative “Useful Idiots” that Lenin and Stalin laughingly called their sympathizers and those who helped them achieve absolute power... then executed them.

The error occurred about 53 years ago when Barack Obama Sr. failed to practice birth control.

The administration especially needs a large number of healthy, young Americans to sign up, to offset the expense of insuring sicker consumers.

How can they afford health care given the lack of opportunity for young people in the Obama Depression.

And it is a Depression - Obama is just covering up our economic crisis by borrowing fifty cents of every dollar the government to pay unemployment and welfare payments to the unemployed.

Obama stated his administration with an economic crisis that he has not turned around and nor will he not turn around because of his destructive policies.

He will leave the US deeper in crisis than when he came into office and leave the country bankrupt to boot.

If the Republicans twiddle their thumbs for 3-4 months the Democrats will find a way to stick the blame for the whole mess on them.

Democrats are spending less than1% of their time fixing ObamaCare and 99+ % trying to figure out how to blame the Republicans, Insurance Companies, Greedy Rich people, the Tea Party or whoever else they can dream up to deflect blame from themselves
