WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The government's move to delay for some people a requirement to buy medical insurance raised new doubts about the already chaotic rollout of President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law, just days before an enrollment deadline.
In another technical setback on Friday for the main website for enrollment, HealthCare.gov, U.S. officials said it would be down for a few hours to repair an error that occurred overnight.
The Obama administration said late on Thursday that people who have had their insurance plans canceled because of new standards under health policy reforms may be able to claim a "hardship exemption" to the requirement that Americans have coverage by March 31, or face a penalty.
While several million people have received policy cancellations, U.S. officials estimate that fewer than 500,000 would be affected by this delay in the so-called individual mandate. The mandate is a core part of the 2010 Affordable Care Act, commonly called Obamacare, that aims to provide coverage to millions of uninsured Americans.
Republicans, who have opposed the health law all along as an unwarranted expansion of the federal government, quickly seized on the announcement as the latest sign that it is unworkable.

The first purpose of Obamacare was to destroy Private Medical Insurance Industry in the United States of America.
Each time that Barry S. illegally changes his instrument of destruction, (Obamacare), the expense to the Private Insurance Companies goes up.
Thus, Barry S. has a perfect ratcheting destruction mechanism to destroy the Insurance Companies, because he knows that for the next two years the RINOs, thanks to RINO Ryan, will do NOTHING to stop him.
Hence, as more and more “problems” that Reid and Pelosi have built into Obamacare continue to be “discovered” by the gullible RINOs, the better it is for Obamacre to achieve its first purpose of destruction of the private Medical Insurance Industry.

I'm not too sure about that. I believe the insurance companies were in complete agreement with Obamacare because they seen a way to make billions. I feel that no matter how hurt the Americans have been, King Obama will bail out the insurance companies like the Auto industry. Get ready for a couple of trillions be handed to the insurance companies and still no insuring the millions for health care.
Who needs congress when you can make up your own laws on the fly?
The insurers are co-cospirators in this mess. The Dems get more power and the companies get more money. A nice quid pro quo. Everyone makes out except the citizens.

I got cancelled and I’m not buying in until something happens to make all this go away.
Que the lawsuits. I have said from day one that 0zer0care will eventually die because of the class action lawsuits that will be filed against it. This is the one that will probably do it. Roberts twisted himself into knots to call 0zer0care a tax. The key to that is the mandate is “constitutional” because of the equal protection clause. But now the equal protection clause is violated because some people get exempted because they claim a hardship because they were cancelled. These hardship victims get a substandard plan at lower cost, or go without insurance AND avoid the fine/tax. But others that were cancelled, just like the hardship cases, BUT they get a govt. sanctioned full plan, at HIGHER costs. That’s unequal treatment under the law and a violation of the constitution. No way the courts let this little 0zer0 fix fly. Substandard catastrophic plans have to be made available for everyone, and the fine/tax mandate can’t apply, which would obliterate the law as Roberts interpreted it. Or everyone has to have standard govt. approved insurance, and the mandate is applied to everyone uniformly, the way Roberts originally interpreted it. I think 0zer0 really stepped in it this time.
Obama knows the 14th Amendment cases won’t make it to SCOTUS until 2017 at the earliest.
