Not a Roman Catholic. Yes God loves men and women equally, but he also ordained different roles for them. Men are the spiritual and physical head of the household as well as the Church. But this is an awesome responsibility, not a power trip. Men are also to love their wives just as Christ loved the church and gave His life for her. Somehow the sacrificial love part gets left out of the “women obey your husbands” part.
I dont want women to lead the Church anymore than men could have children. There is nothing wrong or demeaning about having different roles in the family and in the Church, God ordained it that way. Neither is lesser or less valued than the other, just different.
Well, and what is leadership? Teaching would be a leadership position, and one that women can do well as long as they don’t make it up as they go along.
