9/11 Families 'Ecstatic' They Can Finally Sue Saudi Arabia ABC News By AARON KATERSKY and RUSSELL GOLDMAN 3 hours ago
Families of the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks today celebrated a federal court's ruling that allows relatives of people who died in the 9/11 terror attacks to sue Saudi Arabia.
Most of the hijackers who attacked the World Trade Center and the Pentagon in 2001 were from Saudi Arabia, and the complaint states that much of the funding for the al-Qaeda terrorists came from Saudi Arabia.
An attempt to Saudi Arabia in 2002 was blocked by a federal court ruling that said the kingdom had sovereign immunity. That ruling was reversed Thursday by a three-judge federal panel.
"I'm ecstatic.... For 12 years we've been fighting to expose the people who financed those bastards," said William Doyle, the father of Joseph Doyle, 25, a Cantor-Fitzgerald employee who was killed in the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
"Christmas has come early to the 9/11 families. We're going to have our day in court," he told ABCNews.com.
The ruling struck down an earlier decision that found Saudi Arabia immune from lawsuits. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said it's in the "interests of justice" to allow them to proceed.
Families who lost loved ones in the Sept. 11 attacks and insurers who lost billions of dollars covering damaged businesses have alleged Saudi Arabia bankrolled al-Qaeda, knowing the money would be used for terrorism.

Their US assets, which are probably considerable, can be seized if they don’t pay up.
*That* will happen the day that Saudi Arabia stops holding the economy of the industrialized world in the palm of its hand.
It’s about time!
Or will Obama just have the Judge whacked?
I doubt that someone who bows down to them is going to force them to pay up.
Port Authority tolls to cross the Hudson river have risen astronomically since 9/11. ThePort Authority openly admits that the additional revenue is being used to construct the new Freedom Tower which is meant to replace the destroyed twin towers. Those Saudi terrorists were financed and motivated by the Wahhabi. The radical fundamentalist Wahhabi are sanctioned and financed by the Saudi government. It is inconceivable that Saudi intelligence was unaware of this plot. Sorry but Bush attacked the wrong country. It is not likely that Barack Hussein Obama will seek reparations from the Saudis. however the issue of Saudi reparation should be raised in the 2014 and 2016 elections. The New York metropolitan area alone suffered over $3 trillion dollars in physical and economic damages.
(1) Saudi oil is much less important today than it was just a few years ago.
(2) There is a difference between Saudi citizens funding terror and the Saudi state funding terror.
(3) This is the outcome that Obama wants - a cooling of our relationship with the Saudis in order to offset his cozying up with their enemy, proven terror sponsor Iran.
“Their US assets, which are probably considerable, can be seized if they dont pay up.”
Who at the DOJ will force them to pay? If any of the suits have to go through the DOJ, we all know exactly what will happen to them.

One has to believe all the following currently support obama.
lee h. hamilton (vice chairman) - Endores obama.
richard ben-veniste - has not made a public endorsement that I could find, but I assume clinton, since bill appointed him.
jamie gorelick - Endorses obama
bob kerrey - Endorses clinton
timothy j. roemer - Endorses obama
Lord, I hate capitalizing the above names, so attempted in not doing so.
