Tonights TopClip shows a side of Duck Commander Phil Robertson that many dont know: when he was teammates with future NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw
Terry Bradshaw = Class act
youtube link no worky :(
Must search on
Terry Bradshaw = Class act
We just keep learning more about Phil don’t we? And totally agree about Bradshaw, could have taken a shot there get approval from certain groups.
Terry Bradshaw made filthy rich from gate receipts of football games paid for by little people and Jay Leno made filthy rich from advertisers who sell to little people discussing the words of Phil Robertson who was made filthy rich from advertisers paid for by little people? And I am to care about what these three people say for what reason????
None of them affect my life.....
Terry Bradshaw On Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson - The Tonight Show
I don’t hate the filthy rich, I try to become one of them.
Thanks for the link, it was great!
Damn rich people! Time for some redistribution!
Then, go play in a different sandbox.
You’re either in a very bad mood this Christmas or on the wrong website. Or both.
By your own reasoning these three filthy rich people touched the hearts of many little people. They have done more then I can ever dream
I’m a wannabe filthy rich. Don’t hate me...
Do you suffer from money envy?
Then get off your butt and EARN the money these people have.
That’s totally hysterical!
As Justin Wilson used to say:
"Shoot dem duck!"
Income envy is a terrible way to go through life.
Whoa...panties in a twist are they?
Or, “anyone who wants to get rid of filthy lucre, please send said filth to me, I’ll be glad to help you do it.”
“Terry Bradshaw made filthy rich from gate receipts of football games paid for by little people and Jay Leno made filthy rich from advertisers who sell to little people discussing the words of Phil Robertson who was made filthy rich from advertisers paid for by little people?”
Little people? Each of these people were “little people” once. They refused to stay little. Can’t say the same for those who are as little of heart and spirit that they could make such an ignorant statement. Bah humbug.
Yes, I have no use for sports but every time I have seen this guy on TV I was impressed.
Sarah, she’s the real deal!
Her husband is a very lucky man.
Tjust took a few moments of your life, didn't they?
Here's his new politically correct replacement ...
Terry Bradshaw turned his Talent into a successful career.
He didn’t start out “Filthy Rich”, whatever that means.
Jay Leno, like him or not, same thing. He used to sleep in his Car because he had no money when he worked Comedy Clubs when he started out.
Phil Robertson, was raised dirt poor. He picked Cotton as a child. He managed to get into College and earn a Masters Degree. Afterwards, he fell into the abyss of Drugs, Alcohol and as his Wife said, he wasn’t a very nice Man.
He managed to pull himself up, and he designed a new type of Duck Call. He started his Business in a Backyard Shed.
He was “Filthy Rich” long before Duck Dynasty came along, yet he still lives a very normal lifestyle. He and his Wife live in the same House that they raised their Children in when times weren’t so good for them.
Damn those Filthy Rich, they don’t suffer like the rest of us Peons do. We were Hoping Mr. Hopey Changey would punish them, but he let us down. Boo Friggin Hoo.
DU and Daily Kos are just a few left clicks away.
Congratulations on your success. You turned a thread about Bradshaw and Robinson into one about yourself.
Back in the day when the Cowboys were a real team...I hated Bradshaw and the “Terrible Towels”.
As time has gone by...I have grown to really enjoy him as a sports commentator.
This interview was great. Both humorous and gracious.
He is pretty darn classy.
yes, I heard something about this on the radio. Robertson, for whatever reason that I can’t remember, left the school (or the team?) and Bradshaw got the spot. Very interesting.
If Paul Harvey were alive, maybe he would make a “....rest of the story” about it.
So many things are off based in your post and you're justifiably getting slammed by true Conservatives.
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is filthy about getting rich? And what government agency forced the "little people" to involuntarily pay those gate receipts to enjoy Terry Bradshaw play at Three Rivers? And what's wrong in your world of dialectical materialism with a fine Christian such as Phil Robertson making a ton of money by dint of hard work, innovation and creativity.
You've been here a long time and I just a few years but your remarks, if they weren't made in jest, are unworthy of Free (Enterprise) Republic.
He didn't leave the school--ultimately, he earned a Master's degree in education. Instead, he gave up football, deciding that, paraphrasing his words, he didn't want to go to the NFL and be chased around by large, violent men.
I invite you not watch or pay any attention to them at all including posting in threads like this.
“None of them affect my life.”
Sure they do. If not for the rich, your taxes would be extremely high.
Thanks for filling that in!
I find these displays of opinion irrelevant for different reasons.
The “little people” voluntarily made these men wealthy because the “little people” demanded it.
Jeeze....what a grump!
FWIW, I ran into Brashaw at the safeway in Kona. We made small talk about the huge amount of food he was buying (suspected who he was even with a ball cap on) and with questions about feeding a football team.
The guy could not have been more down to earth, with no apologies about where his house up on the Kohala coat was ($$$).
When checkout time came, checker asked if he had a Safeway card for discounts. He said yes, but was obviously embarrassed to whip out his ID in public. Another in line used her card to apply the discount and he was deeply thankful for the gesture.
"Celebrities" would have just blown it off, accepted the extra $$ or ignored the generous woman's help. Bradshaw was a totally normal guy, Hall of Fame or not.
I just tried that getting off my butt thing. And I still haven’t earned any of these people’s money.
Didn’t know him well the short time I played with him in 1978, but you’re right, he was a truly nice guy—and a great, come-through player all his career.
He treated us long-shot rookies just like we were veterans.
It was posted on Facebook earlier today. People like it.
We’re only entitled to equal opportunity based on our own gifts and motivations, not equal outcome. I’ll never be Cindy Crawford either, but that’s the breaks (yeah I know, I’m out of the loop). Fortunately there are all kinds of ethical ways to be happy.
[Then, go play in a different sandbox.] (Redwood99)
And (to eerie) stop eating what you think are dry tootsie rolls in the sandboxes where you seem to thrive. They are giving you a crappy outlook on rich folks.
“I just tried that getting off my butt thing...”
I could be wrong...but I really don’t think things happen quickly.
Because I got a job last week and am not president of the company earning 6 figures this week don’t count.
If I misunderstood your post...I apologize in advance.
Had Phil kept on and signed with the Steelers, he'd have 4 rings on his fingers.
Now Terry, who was considered just a "mediocre" QB at the time is enjoying his fame and acclaim.
But Phil loved hunting more than football.
And God bless BOTH of them, they ended up living their dreams.
Ironically, Phil is MUCH wealthier than Bradshaw.
Nothing against Terry.
I'd wager that Phil is happier about how his life turned out.
There should be a like button, your post is spot on.
What an ignorant comment.
Phil Robertson built a multi-million dollar company from the ground up, with his bare hands and a Christian work ethic. It's why the A&E television network wanted to make a reality show about him and his family in the first place.
Terry Bradshaw and Jay Leno busted their humps to make their fortunes too.
