Robertson who made his fortune from inventing and manufacturing hunting equipment before finding TV stardom went on: We are a bunch of rednecks from Louisiana, but I am not uneducated, I have a degree from Louisiana Tech. 'But this week I have been called an ignoramus. This week I have been asked, "Is this the first time you have brought up sin?" I said, "Are you kidding? I have been traveling to and fro spreading this message." 'Then he said, "Well do you invite yourself to go and get your Bible and tell people what you are now sharing with us." I said, "No they are inviting me."

I REALLY had to truncate the title.
Here is the real title:
EXCLUSIVE: Duck Dynastys Phil Robertson breaks his silence: Reality show star says hes ‘a lover not a hater but REFUSES to back down from anti-gay comments
God bless Phil and the Robertson family.
What anti-gay comments?
Way to keep it real Phil.
There’s a man.
They’ve met their match in Phil. The Left isn’t going to force him to wimp out. He will stand by his beliefs and if they don’t like it, too darn bad. Attaboy Phil!
just saw an UnderArmor ad featuring Willie
That takes spine!
Sorry, thought I reported that directly. (Nothing against you; AP has a hissy fit at perceived copyright violations.)
“I am not uneducated, I have a degree from Louisiana Tech”
He also has a Masters degree and was a school teacher. Oh and the first string quarterback on the football team when Bradshaw was on the sidelines as a backup QB.
Once all the cards are on the table, then answer msm questions.
He didn't make an "anti-gay" comments.
But I will!
Jase, in reaction to his wife saying she let’s him hunt. “Let’s me?! That is like saying you let me breathe.” Liberals can’t understand these comments. They are used to feminizing males and restricting such humor. Phil did a wonderful job as a father.
Don’t feel bad. I would have done the same thing,
They would go after Jim, not me. :)
Please bear with me... it doesn’t matter what Phil’s, yours or my explanation is, people (not only gays mind you) consider ANYTHING short of total agreement or silence, to be anti-gay. Sometimes this is even true among believers of the resurrected Jesus Christ who are sanctified by that blood.
That type of thinking totally boggles my mind. There is positively no way to dialogue with those people. The only way I can survive the craziness is to immerse myself with the talk/print of Christian apologists, Mark Levin, or Dennis Prager. Accurate thinkers.
AND. ..at the very end of the article is a new statement from Cracker Harrell completely different from the one on Friday ..now they’re apologizing for offending US.
Pitiful. Spineless. Cowards.
Good for them.
Good job Cracker Barrel, on regrouping.
Now how about the network also backs down and brings back Phil Robertson.
I thought he would stand by what he said.
One never backs down when they are right.
“Yesterday Entertainment Weekly claimed that despite his suspension, Robertson will be back on the hugely popular show which regularly pulls in 12 million viewers when filming recommences in January.
They quoted a source saying: The network also hopes the media and fan furor will cool down over the holidays and that tensions over shooting future episodes can then be resolved. Theres no negotiation to have; were doing the show.
That will come as welcome news to the people of West Monroe and much of the country, who have leapt to Robertsons defense and said he has the right to speak his mind.”
So Phil is back? It’s all resolved?
Think that the media has their silk undies in a knot. They can’t get enough of Phil and want to shame him into retracting his truthful statements and apologizing to gays, A & E and Disney. He is the sinner. Oops, in the Bible they are the sinners and that what Phil quotes.
The media is also keeping Phil in the spotlight and his message about Jesus and the teaching of the Bible and his commitment to both.
The more Phil straightening his spine, the more they attack him, the more people listen and the truth shines through.
A&E, gays and Disney are big, big losers in this one. Did they think they could beat Jesus?
It was resolved almost immediately. Jim Robinson posted it when it happened but people didn’t take note of it.
I think that stupid “Phil is Back” news story from yesterday was just a deceptive headline. The story was really just referencing the episodes already in the can, which were slated to start running in January. But the headline was making it sound like Robertson/A&E had resolved their differences.
I just heard a discussion on Fox news - they are just playing small-ball, refusing to address the larger issue behind this whole “mess”. And that is a redefinition of moral standards in America. He is in trouble for saying something that would have been accepted a common sense 50 years ago, and still is (I believe) for most Americans not on the edge coasts. And these folks finally have something to rally around and so “no!”
I think it is as simple as that - the real question is where does it go from here.
there ought to be a viable commercial market for anti A and E “merchandise” about now....
Read and understand people
The fact that he is on the opposite side of political correctness is his greatest attribute.
Wisdom is rare these days. It has nothing to do with being educated.
Remember A&E wanted a show of stupid rednecks from southern flyover country to mock, what they didn’t expect was this family has great values that connected with real people. These are the bitter, ignorant clingers that pound their Bibles and carry their guns in pickup trucks that have always impeded the progressive agenda. This are the very people Barack warned you about!
I watched Duck Dynasty for 20 minutes this evening and found it boring and too scripted...too fake for me but I wish this extended family good luck with A&E
I would love a discussion.
Nancy Dubuc [a pro gay person] of A&E immediately responded when her pals at GLAAD complained to her.
A&E and GLADD at a 3AM phone call decided to suspend Phil.. Why was GLAAD even in on a 3AM morning call with A&E.
A couple of Liberals went wild and should be fired.
I agree. The family seems nice . but the show, no.
“Wisdom is rare these days. It has nothing to do with being educated.”
We must keep in mind that education is now run by Marxist/Leninist (non)educators.
Duck Dynasty doesn’t do a lot for my brain, but it sure does a lot for the soul. I think that is why it connects. I think many people are so thirsty for something good, to stand for something.
Good for him
Ping for later
Be thankful we live in America(for now). In Britain, Mr. Robertson would be charged with a Hate Crime and arrested.
That’s what probably explains it in the end. Personally, I’ve never quite cared for the whole weird reality-show genre, with their strange, self-conscious contrivances... pretending a camera isn’t there recording everything, the in-studio self-commentaries, etc. It’s a bit of a barrier for me to get beyond. Not to mention, the genre itself is full of some of the worst junk that television has to offer.
But, getting to “Duck Dynasty,” its episodes follow a lot of familiar, old-hat themes. Its pre-conceived plots/themes are almost akin to old-time shows like “I Love Lucy” or “The Honeymooners.” Which also, many people find too doggedly familiar for interest, and might turn some people off, who don’t stick with it. But where DD really starts striking gold in the humor department is in the ‘character’ comedy. There will be subtle little bits or throwaway lines or incidents that come out of left field, based on the individual eccentricities of the characters. That’s where some pretty solid, sharp humor comes from.
But then, to add the element of values, religion, and culture into the mix, and it obviously starts connecting on a much deeper level than your average tv-fare. That’s why the attacks on Phil and the series come across just as much as a ‘personal’ attack on the fans/viewers. The viewers’ culture is being attacked. Their values. Their very identities. By the usual crowd of scumbag lefty elites, who don’t have any idea what they started. They think they’re on one of their usual PC crusades, but they have invited a fistfight in an alley. Because this time, it’s “personal.”
