Phil Robertson Returning To Duck Dynasty
Mr. Conservative ^ | 12/22/13 | Robert Rich

Posted on 12/22/2013 11:51:07 PM PST by Impala64ssa

It has now been revealed that Phil Robertson will be returning to Duck Dynasty on January 15. A&E said they have no plans to fire the star.

It appears as though the war on Phil Robertson and his freedoms of free speech and religions aren’t quite so savage. Although A&E declared they were suspending the star “indefinitely, ” it was apparently only a façade for the gay community as sources say they still intend to air episodes featuring Robertson .

The Duck Dynasty star came under fire after expressing his beliefs about homosexuality and how it conflicts his religion. In an interview with GQ magazine, he started off by saying, “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers – they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

He went even further into explanation when he said, “It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus.” Afterwards, he even went so far as to compare homosexuality to bestiality and terrorism, a point which made a select portion of the public outraged.

The point Robertson was trying to make here is that you can’t draw a line where “acceptable” sin is. Sin is sin, and the only line you can draw is where it is, not which sin is OK to commit.

Being outraged by the comments members of the gay community went on a double standard rampage—because of course, straight people who don’t agree with homosexuality are labeled “homophobes” while they’re allowed to feel “offended.”

Wilson Cruz, a spokesman for GLAAD,—a gay rights group—made a cry to the public saying, “Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe.” He went on to say, “He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans – and Americans – who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples.”

The funny thing about his statement is that Louisiana is one of the majority 33 states that have an all out ban on same sex marriage. If there was a majority in support of the lifestyle then wouldn’t that show as either a majority in the states that allow it, or at least in the “majority” led Louisiana?

Either way, A&E quickly moved to make a public statement where they said, “The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely,” and that, “His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community.”

Well it turns out that this may just be a ploy to let heat cool down as they play out the rest of Robertson’s episodes. Apparently they are going to play the next season with episodes featuring Robertson as they have already filmed and edited them.

But what about his suspension—is A&E going to stand by their statement?

A source close to the situation stated that, “There’s no negotiation to have; we’re doing the show. We’ll figure out a solution. It’s just not going to happen overnight. Everybody will take a break for the holidays and regroup afterward. That’s probably the smartest thing for everyone to do. Time heals a lot of wounds.”

Apparently they’re not done milking this money cow yet as once again, money has proven dominance over morals.

There really shouldn’t have been any issue in the first place as it was Robertson’s right to express how he felt under his freedoms of speech and religion. But, hopefully A&E will be exposed for the greedy hypocrites they really are.

What do you guys think of this?

Also Cracker Barrel backed down and they're restocking the Duck Commander merchandise on their shelves. The producers of DD and the execs at A&E are not stupid. They knew damn well what they were getting with the Robertson family. I too cynical to believe that A&E are returning Phil to the show out of a sincere sense of fairness, so much as they came to the realization that even a wild dog knows not to sh!t where they eat.

I think he and the family should take their show and the ratings it pulls to another network and tell A&E good bye.

Yep, I am cynical too. It was pure economics. It's as simple as that.

There’s one thing to keep in mind, here ... it’s that homosexuality is a UNIQUE SIN among all the sins listed in the Bible - and the LGBT-types actually reflect that in what they do and how they react.

Here’s what God says about it ...

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

22 Professing to be wise, they became fools,

23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,

25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.

27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers,

30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful;

32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

THAT would certainly be “dynamite” to LGBT-types ... :-) ...

I’m sure they are “foaming at the mouth” at this part ...

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness ...

Also, in reference to what someone else said about homosexuality being another sin - just like all the sins listed in the Bible ... I’ll have to point out that it’s QUITE UNIQUE in comparison to other sins. I said the following in another posting elsewhere ...

The unique thing about what God said in Romans 1 — is that this particular sin is actually a “judgement” from God in that He has them debasing themselves in such a way. THIS (what the LGBTs promote) is actually God’s judgement upon them in that they are to do these things to themselves. They, therefore, receive god’s judgement in the “here and now” for clearly rejecting what god has made clear to the,.

SO ... while these are all sins - fornication, adultery, thieving, drunkenness, slandering, swindling - and will not be allowed into Heaven ... none of these are, in and of themselves - a condition which God imposes upon people for their rejection of what God has made clear to them,

On the other hand — the LGBT lifestyle is a specific condition and judgement of God Himself - upon these people,

AND THEREFORE, God has put upon them the absolute worst of the worst sin possible in a human being - in order to thoroughly DEBASE them to the ultimate extent in THIS LIFE, in the HERE AND NOW and not upon “Judgement Day”.

LGBT-people are a “walking advertisement” of God thoroughly debasing someone to the maximum extent possible, in a human being. They are walking around with a “neon flashing sign” — saying — “Look at me! God has not even waited until Judgement Day to judge me!”

Forget it. I think the damage has been done. If A&E was suspending Phil just to placate the homos, then they're even bigger POSs than I thought.

I say:

(1) Immediately void their contract with A&E.

(2) All future episodes in the can should be sold direct-to-DVD. They should not be aired on A&E.

(3) The Robertsons retain the rights to all past episodes and product merchandise and prohibit A&E from selling it on their website.

There are You Tube videos of Robertson speaking his faith. A&E knew what he was about when they produced the show. They simply got orders from the suits at Disney to do something about the show because it was affecting the Left's stranglehold on pop culture.

Genesis 19 reveals the nature of that particular sin - and unlike other kinds - the sin of abomination depicted there is a sin that is not only prideful - but a sin that will force itself on those whom they choose to debase.

It is a sin that will refuse reason and other offers of enticement when it makes up it’s mind to have sex or impose it’s own morality upon whom it wills.

Everything we are seeing with this homosexual agenda and its insidious intolerance and brutality - was already spelled out for us in Genesis 19.

Nothing new under the sun.

I have to laugh at your #1, #2, and #3 — because those aren’t unilateral actions - that is, they are not actions that one side and one side alone can take.

All three of those would have to be ordered by a court of law - in which both sides would be arguing against each other. In addition, a court would be addressing the issue not on the basis of a popularity contest - but rather according to established and recognized laws of the land.

In Romans 1, this is shown to be a sin that is also a judgement for what is stated in verses 18 and 19.

I don’t recall any other sin listed in the Bible that is a judgement for “another sin”.

This one is a judgement for verses 18 and 19. That’s what makes it unique, plus the fact that it debases a human being, in himself or herself - more than anything does - as a human being.

This is God making a human being as LOW and as DEBASED as could ever be done with ANYTHING. This debases a human being to the point where they are just about “not even a human being” any longer - that’s how bad it is.

Again, no other sin is like that.

Again, no other sin is like that.

I like the way A.E. Wilder-Smith explained this uniqueness.

God makes plain to all men his existence through that which is made. When men respond with either "I refuse to see it," or "I see it, but I don't care," they trigger the "giving over" Paul speaks of.

In short, Atheism, and more importantly, "functional" Atheism are the triggers to this judgement.

While there are few actual Atheists in this country, the number of Functional Atheists is overwhelming.

This goes to show ya that Christians have a lot of power in this country, IF they exercise it and unite.

This “event” will pass and the Robertsons will be just fine.

There are 85 million Evangelicals in the US. Less than half — about 40 million are registered to vote.

About half of those bother to vote. Just think if the bulk of the 85 million DID vote. What would we NOT have now -- the anti-Christ and a Senate full of his minions, for one.

It's time for Christians to organize and VOTE this coming election on 11/14. THEN vote, even “louder”, in 2016.

If that happened the progressives would be delegated to the whimpering, meaningless, AND powerless insects that they should be. The “LGTB community” MINORITY would have no power and the majority of conservatives would be the ones that people would be afraid of insulting! Maybe the passion for voting -- the chance to take our country back -- is where all this energy should be applied...eh?

That’s good but I would key in on the meaning of those “who suppress the truth in unrighteousness” — which I take to be a further category beyond one’s personal unbelief.

This is active SUPPRESSION in all UNRIGHTEOUSNESS — and that gets God’s judgement upon that person with the most DEBASING and DISGUSTING THING a human being can ever be involved in (at least that’s the way God views it).

The time to get off the fence is NOW. I hope Phil Robertson, in addition to being the Patriarch of the Robertson family, will become the Patriarch of a Christian renewal in America. Just in the last week there was a report that voter registration and turnout is extremely low among evangelicals compared to other groups. What the left might be worried about is that a charismatic figure like Phil emerges who is politically aware enough to get these people to the polls. That is of course why they destroyed Palin. Last week’s attack was almost certainly an attempt to destroy Phil for the same reasons, to keep a potential political mobilization from occurring. They could stomach Phil while he was just an entertainment figure, but when he ventured into social and political issues in that interview they got scared and lashed out to silence him. They need to keep Christians in the closet or their agenda will suffer a major setback.

Yes, this is the bottom line for us, as Christians..Why have we not been taught that it is our responsibility to be faithful as citizens in a Judeo-Christian nation to uphold our values in our society. Those who want to take away our rights, given to us by God, have been working day and night to do just that. Now, they control most of our major institutions, the media, entertainment and, yes, the government. Why? Because we have been working, rearing families, paying taxes and, in general trying to be good citizens while they have been busy for years trying to destroy traditional America along with the values which gave us our inalienable rights. I hate to put it this way but we Christians need to show the world what community organizing is all about.

There are two sins stated in the Bible that are AN ABOMINATION UNTO GOD... homosexuality is one of them. Do you know what sin will never be forgiven? Sin is sin but there are sins that GOD despises above all others... the end result will be the same but one sin in particular is one that can never be overcome. Therefore not all sin is equal.

“I promise you that any of the sinful things you say or do can be forgiven, no matter how terrible those things are. But if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you can never be forgiven. That sin will be held against you forever.” — Mark 3:28-29

This season was already in the can, anyway.

How could they have edited Phil out of every episode?

I want to see A&E crushed, a la Conan the Barbarian, personally.

It's not just economics. This is Chick-Fil-A all over again, which means A&E wants to get this damn story out of the news immediately.

This whole thing has blown up in their faces -- in a big way.

“I think he and the family should take their show and the ratings it pulls to another network and tell A&E good bye.”

For contractual reasons making a quick move to another network without A&E’s blessing is impossible. Here’s another strategy:

The incident educated the consumer as to the difference between Duck Dynasty and Duck Commander merchandise. Hopefully Willie is a smart enough CEO to start churning out merchandise for Wal-Mart and other stores under the Duck Commander brand. Essentially he has the opportunity to displace the A&E Duck Dynasty brand with a brand he controls and receives 100% of the royalties. A&E will loose the revenue of the licensed products and millions of dollars. The Robertson family can profit while A&E takes it in the chin.

“I think he and the family should take their show and the ratings it pulls to another network and tell A&E good bye.”

Most TV etc contracts would require them wait a year or two before they could have a show on another network.

But if A+E drops the show they would be free to go anywhere right now.

“About half of those bother to vote. Just think if the bulk of the 85 million DID vote. What would we NOT have now — the anti-Christ and a Senate full of his minions, for one.”

The numbers are compelling with respect to the evangelicals and non voters in general. In the 2012 presidential election, 126 million people cast ballots and 93 million people eligible to vote did not go to the polls. Most elections in today’s divided country are won or lost with a margin of less than 5%. Mobilizing another 2-3%, to vote for real conservative candidates, could change the political landscape dramatically.

The truth is the Democrats, and their allied interest groups, are terrific in getting their entitlement dependent base out to vote as a bloc as well as getting their base to register to vote. Republicans and Conservatives seem to depend on people doing their public duty. Look at the collapse of the Romney IT system and ground game on election day in 2012 versus the power of the Obama database supported with hundreds of thousands of community organizers.

Winning requires a good ground game and a candidate voters are enthusiastic about voting “FOR”. Many evangelicals and conservatives no longer participate in the system because they are tired of voting against the worst of two bad candidates instead of having the opportunity to vote for someone who will support their agenda.
