Report: 'Meet The Press' May Get Axed
Brietbart Big Journalism ^ | December 23, 2013 | Tony Lee

NBC's flagship Sunday show, Meet The Press, has seen its ratings go bust as it continually props up members of the permanent political class in Washington, D.C.'s "Boomtown." Now the show may get axed from NBC News's lineup.

According to the New York Post, new NBC News president Deborah Turness "has been trying to figure out the future for David Gregory’s 'Meet the Press.'" She is reportedly considering "bringing in MSNBC’s 'Morning Joe' team of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski for a Sunday show, or blowing up the entire franchise and trying something completely different."

[Snip]

The show has seen its ratings hit a 21-year low. As Breitbart News reported, the nosedive started when Gregory accused 2012 Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich of racism for merely stating that the number of Americans who have had to go on food stamps has increased in President Barack Obama's economy.

So the suits are going to replace MTP with personalities from a morning show that gets killed by its competition by a 3 to 1 margin?

And how does NBC expect to display any journalistic integrity with Mika Brzinski, who receives her daily talking points directly from Valerie Jarrett?

Now the show may get axed from NBC News's lineup.

Couldn't happen soon enough for me. There is no reasoned and civilized discourse. It's nothing more than a vehicle for MSM liberals, but I repeat myself, to shout at and belittle conservatives.

Besides, its premise is all wrong. The press and its reporters are supposed to be the fly on the wall, observing and reporting significant events. Heisenberg aside, the press and its reporters are not part of the events reported.

"Meet The Press" reflects the MSM's arrogance that they "make the news". And when they behave in that fashion, they have given up any claim to being a legitimate fourth estate while descending into the propaganda arm of the wing of one of the other estates.

So goodbye "Meet The Press". Your demise will only be mourned by your sycophants who didn't jump ship in time.

If you bring in Joe and Mika to fix it, you’re doing it wrong.

Most of the belittling comes via courtesy of David Brooks, token "conservative" of the NY Times.

Hey, here’s an idea: bring in Charles Krauthamer as host. Then watch the ratings (and the liberal heads explode). A real two-fer . . .

The only way I would know about this happening would be for me to read about it here as I quit watching that Libtard Circle Jerk years ago.

“...reportedly considering “bringing in MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ team of Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski...”

The word “incest” comes to mind.

Tim Russert proves just how irreplaceable he really was.

I’ve got to believe MTP is a victim of three unmistakable trends.

1) The Democrats will lie.
2) The lib media will do everything to support the Democrats.
3) The mainstream GOP hasn’t the balls to fight the Democrats.

When you know that, what is the point of watching any political show? I listen to Rush Limbaugh when he isn’t pushing iced tea or children’s books but even he is depressing because we all know the country is circling the drain, there’s nothing that can be done about it and if you voice your displeasure in any way, you’ll be censored as a racist bigot and get harassed by the NSA or the IRS.

2012 was our last chance and we were Romneyed.

Never got over the loss of Tim Russert. Died in 2008. Obama dodged the big questions with his passing.

Yes, it went from struggling to total dog crap when chimpy-boy took over. The uhhittable Deborah Turness (Even Laz keeps 10-foot-poles around for hitting that one) may well pull the plug, but I bet she tries bringing in the MSNBC morning crew to administer the final blow.

She thinks the Morning Joe crowd is just the best thing evah!

I have to this day, never watched that show.

I am not avoiding it (although I would if I knew) but I really don’t know.

I guess I’ve found alternatives. Oh well.

I have not watched it since Tim died too. I also stopped watching “This Week” when David Brinkley retired.

The only “news” show I still occasionally watch is The McLaughlin Group

All of these show are little more than agenda meetings for the DNC. They drive the DNC talking points at Republicans and generally make them look like crazies because the questions are so slanted.

As the picture with Gregory holding the 30 round AR magazine, what was the purpose of that, except to drive home how really scary those magazines are.

Gregory and his ilk are not the press, they are not the fourth estate, they are a fifth column. They are nothing more than DNC operatives and they are no longer even wearing a disguise.

Why is Meet the Press failing... for the exact reason you cite, they are not flies on the wall, they are DNC activists.

It's our own fault, the GOP party screwed...
itself in '84 w/ GHWB as veep
