Today, he is going home to spend his first Christmas with his family.

Connor was just 14 ounces when he was born on June 29 - that's two ounces less than a pound. He was only 24 weeks old and the smallest baby ever born at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Fla.

My daughter gave birth to two babies that tiny and lost them both. But that was 17 years ago. Things have improved greatly since then.

God love her, what a hard, hard, experience. Terribly hard -— I can only begin to know. Does she have more kids now?

God bless them all.

Yes, praise God, she has a fourteen year old daughter and a thirteen year old son. She found a doctor who knew to send her to a surgeon who performed a procedure called a circlage, that sews the cervix shut until just a few weeks before the due date. It also requires bed rest.

Oh, good, good. A friend of mine had circlage and it was pretty stressful to be in bed practically continuously through the pregnancy (she had another child, 5 years older, too) but her husband came through like a champ, took care of her and the kid(s), ran the household, went to work, was there for the birth ---- everybody doing fine.

Good mothering takes good husbanding! Thank God for all these blessings.

Oh, my is that ever true! The breakdown of the family in our society bears stark witness to THAT fact.
