KENNEWICK, WA - The Washington Health Benefit Exchange continues to help thousands of people complete applications for health care coverage starting January 1st.
Over 200,000 people have signed up for healthcare using the wahealthplanfinder.org website to receive coverage starting on the 1st.
But thousands more are getting help from the Washington Health Benefit Exchange to beat the clock to the 1st.
The exchange contacted over 70,000 people in the past week and a half to help them complete applications and get their payments in.
Now that the 23rd deadline has passed, they plan to work with people through January 15th to complete enrollments and submit payments so those customers can receive coverage for all of January, retro-actively, even if they don't finish until mid-month.
"For many people, they started applications and ran into problems completing them and for no fault of their own. We want to make sure that we honor the commitment we made to the people of the state that they could have the coverage they wanted, when they wanted it," said Michael Marchand, Washington Health Benefit Exchange.
The exchange is reaching out to people who completed some form of their application before the 23rd, but are not finished yet.
The exchange does suggest people double check to make sure their payment is submitted. You can do that by logging into your account and checking the status of your payment. Marchand says 96% of the payments were submitted without complications.
never thought I’d see the day...
zero’s people are all excited about people signing up for something that have to sign up for, under penalty of law.
not exactly a choice.
Yep, people need to make sure their “payments” have been submitted to the identity thieves that are calling them pretending to be from the exchange.
