The Republican establishment and outside groups like Karl Rove's American Crossroads and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are trying to blunt the influence of conservatives inside and outside of Congress to make it easier to pass amnesty.
According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, these groups are "preparing an aggressive effort to groom and support more centrist Republican candidates for Congress in 2014's midterm elections."
The Chamber of Commerce plans to spend at least $50 million to wage war against conservative and Tea Party candidates during the 2014 midterm elections while Rove's American Crossroads is reloading as well. They hope that "a less restive Republican caucus" will pave the way for initiatives like immigration reform. The Chamber of Commerce has indicated it may also pressure incumbent Republicans in moderate districts who are not on board with amnesty to get their support.
The Journal reports that during the most recent budget battle, House Speaker John Boehner's allies engaged in hardball tactics that may have been a trial run for the immigration battle. They worked behind the scenes to "end internal dissent," strong-arming "GOP committee chairmen who had voted against the House leadership in prior fiscal battles" by making it clear that opposing Boehner on the budget deal may jeopardize their committee posts. Boehner trashed conservatives and conservative groups after the budget deal, and conservative talk radio host Mark Levin said Boehner was strategically doing that to lay the groundwork for the looming amnesty battle. One of the main reasons that the Republican establishment wanted a budget deal was the clear the legislative calendar in the early part of next year for amnesty.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they geared up to fight democrats instead?
These GOP-E hacks have yet to explain how their plan to wage war against the Republican base will actually translate into actual voters for their RINO candidates.
It’s WE THE PEOPLE versus the elite on both sides and the GOP big money donors want amnesty for illegals even if it means a permanent Democrat voter base. Besides, the GOP establishment does not want conservative votes. Romney made that clear and lost last time.
I might add that I heard a question put to Romney about what he regretted most about the election he ran. He answered that he regretted not reaching out to Hispanics more!
That would be pointless. They’re on the same side.
It all comes down to this:
What do you support - amnesty or your job?
I’m finding this attack to be a great talking point while promoting the tea party to the left.
The very people the left has accused us of being in the pocket of are attacking us. It gives me a chance to explain that we don’t want crony capitalism or corporate welfare, we want a level playing field for all Americans.
Why would they want to fight Democrats? They ARE Democrats.
You are correct sir. I have said it before. I do not know who I despise more, the rats or the RINOs.
Toss a coin.
The Progressives in the party are committing political suicide.
The Republicans should have Democrats by the balls and here they are turning the Democrats balls loose and bending over for them to nail them from behind.
Immigration amnesty only adds more Democrat votes against them. Are these leaders stupid or deliberately helping Democrats destroy America.
Once again determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Don’t do business with any business who is a member of the Chamber...whether local and regional. Many of the local ones are tied to the US Chamber...and many Chambers not tied are pushing Illegal Alien Amnesty
Let those business know...Chamber membership is supporting Amnesty
Also...do not vote for candidates who get money from CoC, Karl Rove’s Crossroads’...Business Roundtable..and other Pro Amnesty groups
You are right. This is the elite against WE THE PEOPLE.
Karl Rove and the US Chamber of Commerce are both anti America and should be treated like any other enemy. Why worry about Islamo-Fascism when we have these fascists running free here at home?
Amen... you **** us in January we will definitely **** up your world in November... you hear me gop/e? That is a solemn oath!

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is ready to take on the tea party in 2014 Senate primaries and elections with a deep-pocketed boost of establishment and business Republican candidates.
“Our No. 1 focus is to make sure, when it comes to the Senate, that we have no loser candidates,” Chamber strategist Scott Reed told The Wall Street Journal. “That will be our mantra: No fools on our ticket.”
Wouldnt it be nice if they geared up to fight democrats instead?
Why would they? They are all the same party now. And FOX News has become their propaganda ministry.
I like to think that this is the sort of thing Pope Francis was actually referring to when he criticized “unfettered capitalism”. Business interests which are so totally consumed with the bottom line, they are willing to go all-in supporting things that are socially destructive and morally corrupt.
I can't toss a coin. The bastards took it in taxes. I just decided I despise them equally.
Yes and yes.
“I can’t go anywhere in the community without being protested. I don’t see how that is productive.” Mr. McCarthy said that the protests were so loud at his district office that it was impossible for his staff to work. Fearful of a confrontation, Mr. McCarthy’s staff often kept the doors locked, turned the lights off and hid under their desks.
Why The Chamber of Commerce Is Planning To Attack Conservatives and Tea Party Candidates

Yesterday we shared the story of the CoC announcing their intention to spend $50 million in order to protect and maintain establishment Republicans. Yesterday the SCF (Senate Conservatives Fund) also sent out a distribution letter notifying supporters of the same issue.
However, the SCF misses the point when they note:
The Chamber is pro-bailout, pro-stimulus, and pro-debt so its no surprise they want to elect more liberal Republicans.
GOP-versus-Tea-PartyAll of which is true but thats not the primary impetus behind the current $50+ million for the 2014 election cycle.
The reason the Chamber of Commerce is willing to spend so much money to protect the Mitch McConnells of the world was openly discussed a few weeks ago when the Chamber President appeared on Neil Cavuto.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is heavily invested in two legislative constructs. First, immigration reform. Second, maintaining Obamacare.
John Boehner has promised to deliver immigration reform next year. Nancy Pelosi openly admitted as such and it is widely expected to be the platform for President Obamas entire State of The Union speech.
Bottom line Establishment Republicans are going to deliver Amnesty legislation on behalf of the CoC request.
Regarding ObamaCare, the CoC is fully supporting Nationalized Healthcare initiatives because the Chamber sees ObamaCare as the removal of a benefit liability from their membership.
Just about every large corporation has plans to drop their employer provided healthcare programs in favor of paying a known fixed penalty and putting their employees onto ObamaCare exchanges. They are not only anticipating doing this, it is already factored into the five and ten year projections and operations strategies of almost every Fortune 500 company.
The Chamber of Commerce does not want to see ObamaCare repealed or deconstructed, nor do they want to see immigration reform (ie. Amnesty) scrapped.
Both federal programs are baked into the CoC goals.
That is why the CoC will attack any candidate who challenges their bought and paid for Republicans.
The wife of the new National Republican Senatorial Committee head, Josh Holmes, is Blair Latoff (aka: Mrs. Josh Holmes). Blair Latoff, is the senior director of communications at the United States Chamber of Commerce in Washington.
Who is Blair Latoffs husband, National Republican Senatorial Campaign head, Josh Holmes? Why hes the former Chief of Staff for Mitch McConnell.
