Conservative restlessness within their own party poses challenges to three Republican stars in the battleground state of Ohio, where House Speaker John Boehner, Sen. Rob Portman and Gov. John Kasich all have riled up the right.

Kasich upset some by pushing for certain tax increases and embracing Medicaid expansion under President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul; Boehner is clashing with conservative groups over the federal budget; and Portman faces backlash from social conservatives over his about-face in favor of gay marriage. …

I used to think Kasich was a pretty reliable Conservative. Go figure.

Expect the media to highlight these Pubs who rode the coattails of the Tea Party rise and then became "establishment" Pubs. These Pubs will be the reason 2014 will not be the great turn around we hoped for. I know I will no longer vote for the lesser of two bad choices. If Rats hold on because of it so be it.

Enough is enough.

2014 will HAVE TO BE a real grassroots election. We will have to go door-to-door, even in our own neighborhoods, and talk to them about the good candidates, get word out about them in any way possible. We know that the COC, Rove’s PAC (crossroads) and others will be doing everything they can to take down the true conservatives out there. We cannot sit back and complain, but must beat them at their game. They think their money will buy all they need. We must use our feet and whatever else we can to support the good men and women. Neighborhood groups, whatever. Rick Santorum really won Iowa, and with spending very little. His campaign had not the funds to go in big. This CAN BE DONE. We have to get the word to people groups we know, such as SS, bowling groups, other venues we have access to. Invite candidates to neighborhood barbecues, etc. Grassroots was how we won in 2010. We can do it again. Let them waste their millions while we take it to the streets and alleys, barbecues, etc. And encourage people to turn off their TV! Remind them that political adds tend to distort the truth and getting to know the candidate is always better than listening to ads.

Second-tier power has its own allure. Be the loyal, appeasing opposition and the national masters grant you all sorts of power. Either that, or the national powers keep quiet about that which you’d rather not have publicized.

Ohio has its liberal Republicans and Pennsylvania where I live has Governor Tom Corbett and a state legislature controlled by Republicans who just gave us a 28 cent gas tax hike and other tax hikes in the form of fee increases and traffic fine hikes.

Senator Pat Toomey went against the Second Amendment with his support of Bloomberg and Company’s proposal after the Sandy Hook shooting.

The GOP congressional delegation is loyal to Boehner and my Republican congressman had Boehner in for a fundraiser earlier this year.

The only Ohio GOP worth a damn is Michael Turner. Kasich, Portmann, and Boner are turncoats and deserve to be retired. The longer I live here the more I hate this progressively blue state. Northeast Ohio is like New England

Purge them, Ohio isn’t NJ and can do better.
