You can get the encrypted information without decrypting, and know the encrypted data without knowing the encrypted data?
Clarke's law: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic...
Sounds like this technique should be applied to Obama's hidden downlow past.
Perhaps we can discover how this homo morphed into a straight Christian American from a previous existence as a gay, muslim Indonesian.
This must be very intelligent work, because I have no idea what they invented?
OK. I don’t have a clue either.
BTW, how long until someone gets offended over the name:
“fully homomorphic encryption”
Yeah! That’s it!
I believe they’re saying they can get any information anywhere without anyone knowing. I can’t see where it would benefit me, I’ll be even more directly targeted by advertisers and I’m sure it will make the NSA’s job easier but I don’t believe that will benefit me either. And then there’s the IRS.
We have just invented something that can make all your encrypted data available for sale, and we'll sell it to you as the newest and safest way to protect your data.
Go ahead and steal my data like you always have, but don't expect me to pay for your right to do it, assholes!
Homomorphic? Are you kidding me? LMAO
And that is just in math. (sigh...)
Or that they can profile without specific date, just a computer analysis of patterns?
LOL, one of these days they will develop methods of decrypting these cryptic announcements about encryption techniques so that the layman can understand ...
It sounds like a digital version of having your cake and eating it too.
If they can pick and choose what data they want to look at, then what is to stop them from looking at all of it?
The insider trading congress declares victory, and considers your tax dollars well spent in the effort to line their pockets. Vote big government, and vote often.
GLAAD will be protesting and calling for a boycott soon because they THINK that it sounds homophobic.
It means you can give a third party access to the still encrypted data, they can run analysis on it, but their results will be encrypted. They can than give you the encrypted results, and you can unencrypt them.
