I laugh at the fact that Spielberg lost so much money and reputation on it.

Best not move to Minnesota with that attitude.
Here, four-lane highways come to a stand-still when Mama duck walks the babies across the highway to the lake.
And you better not honk to hurry them up, don' cha' know. Uff-da!

Yiou mentioned a pool... Have always been curious if the chlorine affects the water-borne birds that land in pools..

Much as I enjoy the ridicule of a Democrat, a duck is just a duck. On the contrary, they are migratory water fowl and as such are Federally protected. You can be fined for interfering with them, chasing, feeding or trying to get the poopers the hell out of your pool. If only the Feds cared as much about our borders as they do the birds. Except eagles, them we can kill as long as we do it with windmills.

Kliban. I thought it was Larson. The wife used to get me the one-a-day calendars.

You need to get a vid and post it... many of us here love good fun(ny) (happy, happy, happy) vids ;^)
I was always worried about (a what if type situation) the birds drank the chlorine water.. Heck, we drink it every day, not sure it has hurt us much... but, nature is nature, and no idea the outcome. Glad that all is good :)

many a time I have braked to let wildlife get out of the way, and this was a hotel driveway- what was his big hurry? The hooker was waiting and he was afraid his viagra would wear off. Sadly that brings to mind a raunchy old joke where the punch line is "a duck for a f***, a f*** for a duck and a buck for a f***ed up duck" Apologies

Larson’s a lot less vulgar than Kliban.

But how do the ducks know where to cross?

How do the ducks know where to return each spring? They just do. I hatched 3 ducks in an incubator one spring. One of them had slightly different markings. He came back for 2 years, and then disappeared. We don’t have a pond, and the poor thing was trying to make a life in a puddle in my driveway. Finally, he got smart and he moved to the creek down the road.

A friend of mine who lives in a rural area by Flint Michigan, once had a big goose stop by to visit, he was very tame just like a pet, Frank fed him and was becoming found of his newfound friend. Turns out the goose belonged to a neighbor a half a mile down the road. He drove down to Frank’s house, opened his car door, and the goose happy to see his owner jumped into the car. The goose would occasional make it’s way back down to Frank’s house for a visit.

He is most likely a psychopath. Psychopaths have no empathy so to him it was a simple decision: Ducks in the way then run them over. He would probably done the same if they were children if he thought he could get away with it.
He do I know that he is one? ... because he is a Lawyer, Politician and a Democrat so the odds are astronomically high:
Business Insider - 20 Signs That You Are A Psychopath
Lawyers are the second most "psychopathic" profession in the world, according to Kevin Dutton's book "The Wisdom of Psychopaths."
In his book, Dutton interviews a cold-hearted lawyer who embodies psychopathic tendencies.
"Deep inside me there's a serial killer lurking somewhere," the young attorney told him. "But I keep him amused with cocaine, Formula One, booty calls, and coruscating cross-examination."
Here is a fuller account from the Nashua Telegraph:
Nashua police investigate report of state Rep. Campbell running over ducks at hotel
Here is the witness account, James Murphy, retired US Marine officer:
All of a sudden, this 5 Series BMW comes up, its going about 15 miles an hour, and then when he gets to the ducks, its not like it even slowed down, Murphy said.
It just crushed all of the ducks.
Murphy said he called police because he was struck by the drivers indifference.
Note the money quote: "Struck by the indifference."
Here is the perps rationalization:
I hit some ducks, Campbell said in an interview with The Telegraph. Some people were feeding ducks on the driveway in front of the Crowne Plaza at 10 oclock at night
and they didnt move, and I hit some ducks.
The lick spittles in the media are already jumping out of their way to defend him:
The Atlantic - In Defense of a Duck-Killing New Hampshire Politician
Note to the Altantic: This is not a busy thoroughfare. The front entrance to the hotel is set so far back from the non busy street in front of it that you can barely see it. Apparently, the people were feeding the ducks way back from the street near the front entrance to the hotel.
