Brogdon Filing to Run for Oklahoma Governor in 2014

Those who attended Restoring the Republic a few months ago (or have since watched the recording), you will remember Randy Brogdon, the former OK state senator. Senator Brogdon spoke with firsthand experience on the power of state government in pushing back against and nullifying federal overreach. He is now stepping up to run for governor. I wholeheartedly congratulate Senator Brogdon on his decision and wish him great success. I hope that many people from Wisconsin will consider donating to his campaign. A Brogdon administration would very likely be good not just for OK but for the entire United States. If he takes the governor's chair, OK stands an excellent chance of becoming a beacon of liberty, an example that states like Wisconsin could hopefully begin to follow.

> She authored 16 bills that became law... the Stalker Law for Oklahoma... only the second state, after California, to pass [it]... She was very active with the American Legislative Exchange Council... was named Guardian of Small Business in 1993 by the National Federation of Independent Business. According to the Almanac of American Politics, she “championed victims’ rights and health care reform.” ... In the wake of the Oklahoma City bombing, she formed a task force to rebuild the childcare center lost in the disaster. Fallin also initiated Project Homesafe, a gun safety program that has distributed more than 80,000 free cable gun locks to Oklahomans... Fallin decided not to seek re-election to a fourth term as lieutenant governor... Republican congressman Ernest Istook decided to run for Governor... Fallin [said]... incumbent Democrat Brad Henry... “had and was and is popular and I knew what the poll numbers were. I didn’t always agree with him on all the issues but that’s why we’re in different political parties. There were things that I would have done differently.”

Istook lost by 33 points.

I’ve asked before, but can we have a sidebar column that tracks conservative candidates and where they are running? It would be nice to know who to support. Later on, as things get charged up, it is difficult to remember who is who.
