NEW YORK – A dying former civil rights lawyer convicted in a terrorism case and sentenced to 10 years in prison is entitled to compassionate release because she has less than 18 months to live, prosecutors and the Federal Bureau of Prisons told a judge on Tuesday.
In a letter to U.S. District Judge John G. Koeltl, the government said 74-year-old Lynne Stewart was suffering from breast cancer that has metastasized to the lungs and bones.
"Despite aggressive treatment, doctors have advised that her prognosis is poor," the letter said, adding she also has been diagnosed with anemia, high blood pressure, asthma and Type 2 diabetes.

Why are the people who are supposed to serving America — asking for America’s enemy to be released?
When she dies in jail, fill her cell with concrete so she never gets out.
I am opposed to letting her rot in prison, but the law doesn’t permit torture. We should waterboard her, which is not torture, but right up next to it, and continue that until she qualifies for federal wetlands status.
She helped the first bombers of WTC. I have no problem with her dying in prison, really. I don’t think that makes me a bad person.
Her family can pay for that too.

Gee, where have we heard this BULL before?
There was a banker crook that pulled a scam in Dallas - talked the judge into letting him out for his terminal brain tumor, and then lived the good life for another 10 years. And let’s not forget the PanAm bomber how got a compassionate released and lived it up in Libya until the regime change there.
I have a better idea - let’s throw her in a cell with Pollard.

Lynne Stewart is one of the most hardcore communist lawyers I’ve ever seen. Only Steve Cohen and Mike Ratner, both of NY City, are just as hardcased.
Let her die in her cell where she belongs. She is a “clear and present” danger to America and most be kept in jail till she dies (No Libyan bomber fake illness this time).
I won’t be satisfied that she is dead until I see the autopsy being done on her. Wouldn’t be surprised to find out that she didn’t have a heart (lots of company on that one - Hillary, Sebelius, Barbara Lee, Jan Schakowsky, Sheila Lee Jackson, Medea Benjamin, Cynthia McKinney, Barbara Boxer, Eliz. Warren, etc).

Didn’t they pull the same stunt with the Lockerbie bomber? Then he went home to Libya to live happily for another 2+ years. The ONLY reason I’d release her is that her healthcare then becomes her and her family’s problem.
They are liars. Its in their nature. Now Eric Holder is behind it and she will go free.
Since Holder’s DOJ is pushing this, it may be tied to the planned release of Pollard.
