“Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor granted “

I sit here in awe.

I wonder if Miley Cyrus got her all liquored up in Times Square and if she has no memory of signing the order. She may have thought she was signing a finding that there is a Constitutional right to twerk.

Norm, this is speculation, of course, but it would not surprise me if this is a area where she climbs off the liberal reservation for a deeply seeded personal conviction.. She was raised Roman Catholic after all..

That said, if she receives the legendary, visceral response that the Left is famous for, her reaction may be a cornerstone of her revenge, as a backlash in other future abrogations from the progressive doctrine.. Can we even think abortion? Naw.. nevermind.. :)

In a sane, lawful America no one would need grovel before the USSC with such a plea.

We're in the twilight zone.

Actually she had the option to deny, grant, or refer to the full court.
If she had really wanted to be a bitch she could have just denied it and it would not have gone to the full court right away.
I think she sees the writing on the wall with regard to the mandate.
She may even be a vote to strike it down, although I wouldn’t put money on it.

I hope she does. And to be honest I hope the left savage her for any religious convictions she may have. Utterly publicly savage her. Because that may be what it takes to wake her and many not totally committed Dems to finally stand up to the communist wing.

Dispite everything I see and know of the left, It still amazes me how easily they bowled over the ‘mainstream’ dems. I mean afterall, most rank and file dems of the Clinton era were demonstrably further right than today’s Republican voters on a number of issues. They didn’t all die off. But they were silenced effectively and still voted communist regardless.

Sorry but that’s not how it works.
Each justice is assigned over a specific Circuit court.
In this case she happens to be over the 10th Circuit.
She’s not on call.
Do a google search of which justices have certain circuits.
I believe Kennedy is over the 9th, or at least he used to be for many years.

It is only til they hear the case....

My (layman's) understanding is that such stays are only granted if the judge feels the plaintiff is likely to prevail at law.

That’s incorrect. Each justice has jurisdiction over a circuit court of appeals. This came from Sotomayor’s circuit.

She attended Cardinal Spellman HS in the Bronx, a very Catholic school. Irish Catholics, Italians, a good friend of mine graduated from there same year as she did.
He’s also Catholic.

May be reading this wrong BUT my take is her faith ranks above her political stand. If he gives her trouble she may surprise him (and all of us) with her independence from 0
Checks and balance? This time it’s CHECK She has as much power as 0 at this time. He may learn not to challenge a woman’s power that he no longer has any control over.

She won’t stop SSM in Utah, though. There’s a study showing that the Supremes essentially rule by what’s popular with the voters or by private whim. We’re way past careful, thoughtful Constitutional rulings. Wickard proved that.

Maybe the authorities can distribute the excess contraceptives among the urban blighted population. Give it away for free now rather than pay millions later to support the unwanted freeloaders that will be born to the mamas-got-several-daddys.

Unfettered access to birth control beats abortions or bringing yet another welfare case into this world.

That thin glimmer of integrity might just be fear of Pope Frankie. What if his Popeness actually made a judgement about good or evil occasionally?

Seriously people. There is NO STOPPING this abomination known as obamacare. In fact it is going to get worse. If you do not know Jesus Christ you'd better get to know him or else you are screwed. The Antichrist (aka - barak O bamah) and the False Prophet (aka - Pope Francis) are alive and well. Lucifer's New World Order is in place and ready to be implemented. The United States and the world cannot survive what is coming.

Remember people, our fight is not against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities. Satan knows he has but a short time. He's NOT going to take it easy on you. He does NOT like you. He is not interested in your survival. Don't believe me? Just look at where he is. He's playing golf in Hawaii while millions are losing their jobs, healthcare and freedom.

Let he that has ears hear, let he that has understanding understand. Get right with God and protect your families people. Put your hope in God not in some oligarchy like the Supreme Court. They are not on our side.

From our viewpoint yes they do need more headaches.

From their point of view they don’t need any more, and that is why this decision was made.

After thinking about this for a day or so, I have to remember Sotomayor votes the way she’s told to vote. This may simply be a way for obama to grant another waiver without having to grant another waiver.

Sotomayor has surprised me a few times now by joining with Scalia in some decisions. Unlike Kagan, she may not be a slave to her political ideology. We’ll see...
