An Alabama pastor with Middle Tennessee ties is now facing a murder charge for the death of his wife over the summer.
Richard Shahan, 53, was arrested Wednesday night at Nashville International Airport after he tried to board a flight to Frankfurt, Germany.
According to police in Alabama, he was attempting to flee the country to Russia by way of Germany.
Shahan was flagged in the airport's computer system and arrested by homeland security agents.
He is being held in the Metro jail without bond on a fugitive from justice charge.

Egads, if this guy is the perp, why couldn’t he have just smoked weed or passed out with a bottle if his life was a mess. Or get divorced.
Well I suppose any of that kind of stuff would have looked bad..
I always wonder that very thing when I read stories like this. The only answer I come up with is, "Because he was CRAZY, that's why!"
I wonder how many red flags went up for weeks, months.
I think people can ID weirdos, but who really thinks the middle aged pastor at church would actually bludgeon his wife to death. Unless she was telling friends, “If anything happens to me...” the guy probably only seemed off kilter.

There was an interview with this Korean murderer who was in jail over in Belgium. He murdered his wife. (By the way, they treat their psycho-killers like kings over there. Might as well call the prison a resort.) The interviewer asked him “How did you kill your wife, and why?”
He replied “I killed her with a big knife.”
“Okay.. and, why?”
“Because I didn’t have a gun.”
Heh, well at least he was matter-of-fact about it.
Maybe this pastor is a pedo or had some other hideous hobby and the wife found out. (Slow day over here, lol.)
Kind of reminds me of that Hacker creep whose wife and family thought he was going thru med school when in fact he was spending all his days at the local mini mart playing pinball. Killed the wife (who just found out she was pregnant) when the story inadvertantly unravelled, then went out and bought a new mattress.
Psychopaths think in terms of going through people to meet their objectives, not around them.

Well, it does look like Russia may be the best retreat from Obozoland. At least Putin has the gonads to shoot the bird to Obumbo. Can anyone imagine a physical fight between Obozo a Putin? hahaha.
Why would Russia want him?
That’s probably one of the reasons they caught him, Russia has enough of its own miscreants to want to take another one.
Well, it does look like Russia may be the best retreat from Obozoland.
