California lawyers say Mississippi’s state flag must go

Lawyers from California have cast accusatory eyes on Mississippi, declaring that the state’s Confederate symbol on its flag that’s flown at a Santa Ana display is racist and needs to go.

The Orange County Bar Association has passed a resolution to remove the Mississippi flag from the Santa Ana civic center where it now hangs, along with the flags of all other states, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Members of the group say the Confederate symbol is an outdated relic that represents racism and hatred, The Associated Press reported.

Yeah well, the states have been nationalized making the stars on the national flag outdated as well.

Actually, I believe that it was owned by Mexico after the Mexican-American war.

“The treaty called for the United States to pay $15 million to Mexico and pay off the claims of American citizens against Mexico up to $3.25 million. It gave the United States the Rio Grande boundary for Texas, and gave the U.S. ownership of California, and a large area comprising New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Wyoming and Colorado.”

You folks here must have a short memory. The State put this issue up
for a vote several years ago and it was overwhelming defeated(not by just whites but by blacks too).

California needs to mind its own business. Each state is sovereign on its own, right? California and New York, especially, need to remember this.

Well, no.
Take bears. I hate bears. Bears kill people. Bears on flags got to go!

And the there's miners. Miners got to go too!
Miners raped the natural beauty of the native American paradise that was California, and created a toxic wasteland that will last a thousand years!

This has got to stop!
If not us who?
If not now, when?

It's the right thing to do!

To the Ca. bar; we fought a war over 200 years ago with England to cast off the shackles of unjust colonialism, of taxation w/out representation, etc. We fought that same country again over such issues as their seizure of American sailors and forcing them into involuntary servitude in the British navy. Although our differences are long since past just like slavery, I’m still offended that both the Maryland and Hawaiian flags retain reminders of our oppressive history with Great Britain. I demand you remove these flags as well, I mean if you’re going to be fair about it...

The esteemed California Bar should also demand that all schools, universities, and books in libraries public or private purge all references to “unpleasant events” such as the Civil War, slavery, Nazi Germany and the Holocaust, etc. I mean, like, why remember the “past”? It’s so over, and it’s not as if we are doomed to repeat it...

Malcolm “X” was racist too - but no one complained about the X then.

Dear CA lawyers: Go F yourself. If you hate MS’ flag, should you tell others what flag should be theirs? Haven’t you heard of STATE RIGHTS?

The headline and lead paragraph are misleading. If you're capable of reading the second paragraph, you can see that we are talking about the Orange County Bar Association and not the California Bar Association.

Mississippi could point out that California’s state flag is also a symbol of racism

Back in the early 1970's, Dr. Andrew Rolle, a professor of history at Occidental College and the author of several books railed against California's Bear Flag as racist. It's interesting that this notion never caught on among the Left.

Next they will go against Florida and Alabama as their state flags were based on the Confederate battle flag but a bit different.
