Underdog Bevin Keeps Fighting

LEXINGTON — He was speaking to only about 25 people, but Matt Bevin knew what to tell them on a cold, snowy night.

“David never has a chance until Goliath is on the ground,” Bevin told the small group who braved a cold and snowy night for a meeting of the Lexington Tea Party.

Bevin is attempting to play the part of David as he takes on five-term incumbent U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell in the 2014 Republican primary.

Bevin told the group he has always voted for McConnell in the past because “I always thought he was the better choice. But I don’t think this time he is.”

Now, Bevin said, McConnell is so unpopular the only way he can win elections is to “to make people like me less popular than he is.”

He predicted McConnell will continue to attack him in advertising and will become “increasingly desperate” as time goes on.

He even pointed out two young people in the back of the room – trackers from the Republican Party or McConnell’s campaign who follow Bevin filming his speeches for possible use in future campaign ads.

One woman turned toward one of the cameras and said “bye-bye” and waved.

“David never has a chance until Goliath is on the ground,”

Untrue. Everybody on the battlefield at the time knew that a sling was more than capable of killing an armored man.

They just knew David would have one chance to hit a perhaps 4" square moving target, and not unreasonably discounted the possibility that David could do so.

Turned out David, perhaps with the Lord's assistance, was a hell of a shot. But there was nothing miraculous about a sling taking killing a man, or at least stunning him.

Very unhappy about GOP-e goons tattling on what the challengers say in the primary campaigns.

Very cowardly, rat-shit, communist-type behavior that no American should be a part of.

So am I surprised that it is de rigeur for the GOP-e to do this?

Nope.

Mitch will get increasingly nasty as Bevin continues his guerrilla campaign. The establishment candidates can offer no cogent reason for their re-election so they employ gutter mudslinging tactics - the politics of personal destruction. It is time Mitch was pushed off his cushy perch.

Support Matt Bevin to oust Mitch McConnell in KY

There is a silver-lining to this cloud. Remember: Bevin faces McConnell in the GOP Primary. Primary voters are: #1 More informed..... #2 More Conservative... and #3 More radically involved in the election process.

All of the above favors our team.
