U.S. President Barack Obama speaks as he unveils his plan on climate change June 25, 2013 at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. President Obama laid out his plan to diminish carbon pollution and prepare the country for the impacts of climate change. (Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images) When President Obama leaves office three years from now, the major policy story of his second term barring some kind of unforeseen invasion is likely to be climate change. I made this argument at feature length last year, and the evidence continues to mount. Coral Davenport reports today about Secretary of State John Kerrys systematic, top-down push to create an agencywide focus on global warming.
Kerry is a longtime climate obsessive. (Ten years ago, I attended an off-the-record discussion with Kerry alongside several journalists, and our main takeaway was that he understood and cared about climate change more than any other issue.) His appointment to run the State Department is one of several Obama second-term moves that signal the high priority he assigns the issue. This is true not only of the figures Obama has appointed to posts that inherently concern climate change, like the his green appointees to run the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy, but also to general political advisers, like Denis McDonough and John Podesta, both committed environmentalists who will drive Obamas climate focus.
The EPAs new climate regulations are due to come out this June. They will face a certain legal challenge from conservatives. The main driving goal of Senate Democrats rule changes last year was to allow Obama to appoint judges to the D.C. Circuit, which will rule on those regulations.
Meanwhile, the State Department today released its Climate Action Report, which reconfirms the administrations commitment to issue new regulations of existing power plants, and further argues that such a plan could bring the United States into compliance with its international greenhouse gas reductions. Kerry has already negotiated an agreement with China to phase out hydrofluorocarbons. After the EPAs regulations come out, the next step is for Kerry to negotiate the next international climate accord in 2015. As Brad Plumer correctly notes, with characteristic pessimism, a climate treaty is merely a necessary but insufficient step toward averting catastrophic climate change, with more reductions necessary. But that necessary first step is exactly what Obama is doing everything in his power to take with his remaining time.
The parrot is dead.
They ain't gonna give it up easily.
AlGore’s carbon trading fleecing apparatus has already been build and just needs the coercive power of the state to become the Fascist’s golden goose.
The environment is suffering damage that could be irreversible global warming, the greenhouse effect, the melting of the polar ice caps, the rising sea level, hurricanes with terrible social occurrences that will shake life on this planet.
I believe this idea has a strong connection with reality. I dont think we have much time. Fidel Castro said in one of his speeches I read not so long ago, tomorrow could be too late, lets do now what we need to do.
I believe it is time that we take up with courage and clarity a political, social, collective and ideological offensive across the world a real offensive that permits us to move progressively, over the next years, the next decades, leaving behind the perverse, destructive, destroyer, capitalist model and go forward in constructing the socialist model to avoid barbarism and beyond that the annihilation of life on this planet.

Bin Laden blasts US for climate change
CAIRO Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has called for the world to boycott American goods and the U.S. dollar, blaming the United States and other industrialized countries for global warming, according to a new audiotape released Friday.
In the tape, broadcast in part on Al-Jazeera television, bin Laden warned of the dangers of climate change and says that the way to stop it is to bring the wheels of the American economy to a halt.
Charles Manson, the notorious cult leader, has broken a 20-year silence in an interview from his prison cell to warn the world of an impending apocalypse due to global warming.
Everyones God and if we dont wake up to that theres going to be no weather because our polar caps are melting because were doing bad things to the atmosphere, he said.
The automobiles and fossil fuels are destroying the atmosphere and we wont have air to breathe.
Nobody cares about climate change except for deluded leftists. People care most about making a good wage and if the cable/Internet is working.
Climate change is a loser’s strategy.
Actually it’s about SEDITION.... government change..
even treason and revolution...
Obama could care less about climate change...
But what’s Manson think about Obammycare?? That’s what we really want to know :) Sheesh
I’ll say. Its about changing the climate in the White with a nice fresh breeze of Impeachment.
And you must admit it’s the cleverest scheme to implement Karl Marx’ utopian dream. You want your children to have air to breathe, don’t you, citizen?
If you like the air you breath you can keep it. Period. ???
I’m sure he’s 100% in favor of it.
Big business is pushing it big time. It seems like the two most important issues to big business in this country are climate change and gay rights.
The UN has no way of funding its own military without some sort of global tax,
and a carbon tax is perfect for this purpose,
because it would require the developed, free countries to pay more of the way
toward their own enslavement.
They certainly made an adept mid course correction when the “warming” stopped and they called it “climate change”.
Now every 6 inch snowfall and 0F overnight low is a “crisis” that didn’t exist prior to 20 years ago.
I think business is betting on the inevitability of “progressive” control in the US and is trying to make peace with the devil.

And in the big picture it's about global governance.
Google is all about both of those issues.
I observed that in their recent 2013 “Search On” commercial, Google had at least 3 “vines” dealing with gays and one with voice commentary from Obamao. I am so sick of all these people forcing their agenda on me.
The US Polar Star, our only heavy icebreaker, is still heading to Antarctic ... And the Great Lakes are going to have the thickest ice in decades, likely thicker than the light icebreaker can handle!
Don’t confuse them with facts, their collectivist minds are made up.
