Van Susteren Hits U.S. Intel Head for Getting ‘Complete Pass for Lying to Congress’ on NSA
Mediaite ^ | 1/3/2013 | Josh Feldman

In the ensuing media debate on the NSA, there’s one question that hasn’t been broached that much: if Edward Snowden should be punished, what about Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who said just months before the NSA story began that the NSA is not collecting data on millions of Americans? Greta Van Susteren took on this very issue Friday and said of course someone who lies to Congress should be held accountable.

Van Susteren was making an editorial comment about adults, especially elected officials, needing to set an example for young people by showing if you lie, you just can’t get away with it, but from the illegal immigrant who is now able to practice law in California to Trey Radel, the congressman who took a leave of absence after admitting his cocaine problem but is coming back soon instead of resigning, that appears not to be the message.

And as for Clapper, Van Susteren couldn’t quite understand why someone who blatantly lied to Congress is just getting off scot-free.

“He testified before Congress, told a lie, and it was a whopper, and what happens? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not even a grand jury investigation for him. He gets a complete pass for lying to Congress. What’s the message to young people? ‘Lying is okay if you are a big shot?’”

A group of House Republicans have been pushing for a criminal probe into Clapper’s lie to Congress, but that is not likely going anywhere.

The cronyism of Clapper also gets a pass.

I don’t think I’ve heard 1 media outlet mention the fact that Clapper went directly from an executive position with Booz Allen to heading the agency that hired Booz Allen.

Our government is full of these people.

Greta has seriously become a one woman movement against corruption in high places. Kelly File has the glamour and entertains the hype, but is no real believer, yet.

It’s been Greta that has put meat on the bones of Obama scandals with authenticity. IMHO.

Why would anyone be surprised it’s the SOP for the mac daddy administration, it’s done 24 hours a day/365 days a year.

Truth has no place or meaning in his administration.

Anyone telling the truth is sent to the planet zoltar for re-education.

I agree. Greta and Col. West should be in charge of waste, fraud & corruption! They’d clean up DC in a hurry.

If we’re going to prosecute for lies being told, better start right at the top of the pile as the biggest liar is none other than odumbo himself. Then, go after Holder, Pelosi, Reid and pick whomever else falls into the category of just plain “liar”, you will have many to choose from.

Boy! Do I ever agree with you. She is like a pit bull when she gets these issues in her teeth and doesn’t let go. Why on earth can’t we have more like her - both reporting news and making it - IN CONGRESS!! We need lots of Gretas.

The only hope that I have for young people today is that they look at their adult role models and DON’T like what they see. In this regard, perhaps the total corruption of this administration and Washington in general may do some good, in that it may be the “Waterloo” of degeneracy.

NEW YORK SLIMES, America's "news"paper of record.......

New York Times Lied, Thousands Died – Katrina

An antiwar organization, MoveOn.org, ran a full-page advertisement in The New York Times last week suggesting that ''young men and women were sent to die for a lie.''

I remember back in 2002 when Greta came to FOX and it was acclaimed (on this list) that she would be the end of FOX's political outlook. Turned out to be a superstar as an interviewer.

Greta, I was a non-believer when you first moved to Fox.

But you are one of a few who are obviously serious about corruption in high places.

And I applaud you and say, “Keep it up, Lady, keep it up.”
