Skip to comments. The out of touch GOP: Clueless, gutless, heartless

Whose side are you on? Theirs or yours?
While the Republican Party opposes virtually every social advance in the past 100 years, the Democratic Party gives us: Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, Affordable Care Act, civil rights, voting rights, womens rights, workers rights, job safety laws, child labor laws, consumer protection, clean air and clean water laws, aid for the poor (food stamps) and middle class, student aid (Pell Grants, lower loan rates), financial safeguards (Consumer Financial Protection Agency), pending immigration reform and DREAM Act, veterans aid, saving the auto industry (and jobs), support for public education, building America (stimulus, jobs bills).
Regarding helping the poor, sick and disadvantaged, Democrats and Republicans see things differently. The right-wing battle cry is stop freeloaders. Democrats, on the other hand, echo Christian/Judeo teachings with their commitment to Do the right thing.
Under the guise of slicing the budget deficit, the Republican Party (I call it the Trim Reaper) wants to kill and/or privatize social programs and make the rich richer.
Recently, Pope Francis said there is no evidence that trickle-down economics has created jobs. Republicans in Congress have engineered laws that give tax breaks to businesses that send jobs overseas.
I visualize a horror movie entitled, Creature from the Conservative Cesspool. It features a four-headed monster of any Republican foursome, for example: Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and John Boehner.
I can also see a Mount Rushmore of bigotry and hatred featuring Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan and the Koch brothers. By the way, the billionaire Koch brothers, who inherited their money from their oil-rich father, unsuccessfully spent millions of dollars to defeat the recent minimum wage increase in SeaTac, Washington.
When I think of todays out-of-touch Republican Party, a flood of words comes to mind: clueless, gutless, heartless. Examine the organs of Republican leaders, and you will find they have no hearts at all.
Today, womens rights, workers rights and civil rights are under attack by Republicans. They are passing voter suppression laws (supported by the conservative Supreme Courts ruling to gut the Voting Rights Act); waging a war on womens health (harsh anti-abortion laws that are closing womens primary health clinics such as Planned Parenthood); eliminating and curtailing collective bargaining (unions); blocking meaningful immigration reform and the DREAM Act that allows children of undocumented workers to serve in the Armed Forces and attend college without fear of deportation; cutting public education funding; ending student Pell Grants; raising student loan rates; and blocking sensible gun laws.
I think of other words that define Republicans: angry, resentful, jealous, bigoted. Right-wing death threats against President Obama are more than the number of death threats against all the most recent presidents combined.
More words come to mind: obstruction, deception, destruction, demonize (liberals), dominate, demand, discriminate, disrupt (government shutdown costs $24 billion in economic losses), defy, denounce (personal, ugly attacks against President Obama), distort, deride, defile, delay, deprive (blocking virtually every commonplace presidential appointment), detest, dishonor (least productive Congress in U.S. history) and, my favorite Do nothing. There is also the mother of all words to describe todays Republican Party anti-American. Indeed, they are the Republi-cants.
Several words describe their fierce opposition to the Affordable Care Act: immoral, misinformed, uninformed, and false.
Conservative groups are spending billions to defeat Obamacare. Talking heads like Rush Limbaugh and the Fox News array are feeding gullible listeners with lies.
Are the Koch brothers and billionaire media tycoon Rupert Murdoch of the New York Post and Fox News on your side? Are insurance companies on your side? What is their alternative to national health care?
With a messy start in 2006, Romneycare is insuring 98 percent of Massachusetts population. The Bell policy center reports that 56 percent of Americans will pay less than $100 a month in premiums for Obamacare.
Whose side are you on: Theirs (Republican) or yours?
As this stupid commentary reveals, we’re dealing with a religious cult that in the near future will have no qualms about rounding up those whom they deem to be ‘evil’ and “legally” sentence them for extermination.
Where’s the Barf alert when you need one?
As soon as I saw Civil Rights, I knew Ken Veggiebrains didn’t know history, so I stopped reading.
Who are these ‘Koch Brothers’ we keep hearing about?
Why don t the BCCT go after Wall Street for their creative destruction and reckless behavior that imploded the US economy and created high unemployment. Why don t the BCCT go after the US gov for failing to enforce SEC laws that could have prevented the Wall Street implosion or the gov failure to enforce immigration laws that created excess of labor in US. Why don t the BCCT go after US corporations for off shoring US jobs even after they made record profits using US factories? Problem with the US is big gov and big business. Now we are left with an unemployed mob going after the rest of us who still have jobs for handouts, while the jerks who caused all this problem are still in power enjoying obscene profits and perks.
Does Obama pay these rags to run this junk?
And are they related to ed koch, former mayor of new york city.
This guy is whacko.
Is there some sort of organic brain dysfunction that allows these pocket-marxists to keep proposing and fostering processes and systems that have NEVER worked and show absolutely no chance of EVER working?
The stupid, it BURNS:
While the Republican Party opposes virtually every “social advance” in the past 100 years, the Democratic Party gives us:
Social Security — which will soon be broke while bankrupting the nation
Medicare/Medicaid — which is broken and will soon be broke while bankrupting the nation
Affordable Care Act — which mandates unaffordable “insurance” at insane premiums with ridiculously high deductibles and will drive far too many doctors and hospitals out of business
civil rights — a blatant LIE
voting rights — well, if you are dead or illegal
womens rights — another blatant LIE
workers rights — well, if you are a corrupt union thug or have never bothered to develop any marketable skills
job safety laws — also know as rent seeking regulations to prevent small businesses from competing (although some good job safety laws have been passed with bipartisan support)
child labor laws — because Republicans want children to slave away
consumer protection — which generates millions for trial lawyers, who then kick back the money to democraps
clean air and clean water laws — the EPA was created under NIXON, you MORON
aid for the poor (food stamps) and middle class — which creates entrenched dependency and has resulted in INCREASED generational poverty
student aid (Pell Grants, lower loan rates) — and a lifetime of being stuck under student loans that cannot be discharged even by bankruptcy
financial safeguards (Consumer Financial Protection Agency) — another corrupt steaming pile of rent seeking government
OK, I am tired. The author is either a complete moron, a totally dishonest lying POS, or both. IOW, he’s a Democrat...
Why are you spamming this 9-11 truther garbage on multiple threads?
Why are you spamming this 9-11 truther garbage on multiple threads?
Cause it’s important.. republicans need to rise up...
Even the Rino’s.. and the few sentient democrats..
Keep the 911 truther stuff OFF FR!
Hes like the plantation owners during the days of slavery who warns his slaves:
“I give you a free roof over your head, free food, and a job. And if those damn yankees set you free, all that comes to an end”.
This one gets the prize.
Apparently this particular cultster didn’t get the memo: the meme for the month is supposed to be “Republican overreach”. He didn’t work that in once.
This is a preview of the DemaGog strategy for 2014. With the economy still in the dumpster, Obamacare crashing... we will get FULL BLOWN CLASS & ETHNIC WAR from the libs! The whole “inequality” BEE ESS with be shouted full throttle, socialism the only answer. Limp wristed GOPers, best be prepared!
Think I've found the problem. The rat party gives you nothing - it just tries to keep you stupid enough to keep voting for them while they get rich off the swag. It apparently works for some folks.
Is that ever true! In case you're reading this, Ken, a simple search on Wikipedia would have told you that the Republicans, led by Republican President Dwight Eisenhower, put forward the first Civil Rights legislation since Reconstruction, and it was quite a fight to get it passed, since it was bitterly opposed by -- who? -- the Democrats! President Eisenhower also was the first to integrate the U.S. military. He sent troops to integrate the schools. This was hardly 100 years ago, Ken. It was in the 50s and 60s, just before the Kennedys came along and imitated President Eisenhower and took credit for what he started.
I could go on and on about the many other innovations and benefits to society brought about by Republicans and bitterly opposed by the Regressive Party (Democrats), but it's time for the Downton Abbey season opener. You'll have to actually do the research yourself. (She said, smirking.)
And who commanded the first integrated unit in the U.S. military?
Col. Barry Goldwater founded and commanded the Arizona Air National Guard...which was integrated in 1947, three years before President Eisenhower integrated the entire military. p> Yes, indeed. It was Republicans, conservative Republicans, who led the civil rights movement.

You mean demorats?
What are some of the comments on the original article? Are people actually buying this horses**t?
After that much crack, how does he find his keyboard??
Quite right! And which President spent more U.S. foreign aid to combat the scourge of AIDS in Africa than any other U.S. President? Why that would be George W. Bush. Yes, Ken, George W. Bush.
And many, many other Republican kindnesses in between, Ken -- you betcha! Your research is lacking because your emotions are getting in the way. Stop hatin' and you may learn something.
Jackass left out my favorite word: defund.
