Top Saudi lets the cat out of the bag

It is worthy paying close attention when a certain Saudi prince speaks his mind. Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal is sometimes described as the most powerful Arab in the world, thanks to his enormous wealth, business acumen, and influence in the Saudi royal family, which runs the Kingdom as a family fiefdom. Western-educated, he has shown himself to be an effective power broker, owning a 7% stake in News Corporation and donating $20 million each to Harvard and Georgetown Universities, arousing suspicions of undue influence.

The good prince let the world know what the real stakes are in the battle over fracking. Michael W. Chapman of CNS News reports:

Saudi Arabia's Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, a billionaire businessman and nephew of Saudi King Abdullah, said the production of shale oil and natural gas in the United States and other countries, primarily done through fracking, is a real competitive threat to "any oil-producing country in the world," adding that Saudi Arabia must address the issue because it is a "matter of survival."

New shale oil discoveries "are threats to any oil-producing country in the world," said Prince Alwaleed in an interview with The Globe and Mail. "It is a pivot moment for any oil-producing country that has not diversified. Ninety-two percent of Saudi Arabia's annual budget comes from oil. Definitely it is a worry and a concern."

Those who oppose fracking, seeking to stop it on the unproven assertion that it pollutes ground water or causes need to take a deep breath here.

If you really consider this, you will understand that he is saying that oil will be around a long, long time supplying the needs of the world.

The Saudis have never even bothered with saying this about any "Green Energy" like ethanol, or solar and wind energy.

Why? Because they know without a shadow of a doubt that it is all BS and will never make a dent in their oil deloveries. Fraccing can.

Green Energy is the left’s anti business business venture designed to drain national coffers, redirect to themselves their nation’s treasure, and to ensure that Big Oil keeps booming - it is all for show. The same situation evolved with immigration becoming a right for the left in the US as a way to end-run their opposition to NAFTA; both parties supported NAFTA in different ways.

Saudi will “address the issue, threat of fracking” by donating tons of money to “environmental jihadists” in USA.
They will, with the Saudis’ WashDC politician-puppets (that they already own, such as KenyanInChief and many more in Congress), the Saudi-Soros-funded environmental jihadists will block or delay or burden or tie up any and all energy development efforts in America (as they have been doing as much as they could for the past 30 years, just more of the same krap, Piled Higher and Deeper)

courts can delay viable business ventures until they are so costly that the investors just have to give up

we’ve seen this many many times already with trying to develop USA’s energy supplies, and we will see a lot more of it now that Saudis have awakened to the “threat” of fracking

>>>"It is a pivot moment for any oil-producing country that has not diversified. Ninety-two percent of Saudi Arabia's annual budget comes from oil. Definitely it is a worry and a concern." What an addiction! When schooled in 80/20 that was good economics but 92/08 is crazy! But let them spend their oil revs defending their oil dependent economy.

...tons of money to "environmental jihadists"

I cannot intellectually grasp how they can be so delusional as to say they're pro-environment, yet support wind energy. I'm pro-eagle. Does that mean I'm anti-environment?

The commoners are using far too many precious natural resources. We better people need to relegate them back into pre-industrial revolution wooden huts on small patches of ground they’re allowed to farm on shares.

their money comes largely from Saudi and Soros linked sources, and those folks have big investments in foreign oil.
They protect their foreign oil investments, while keeping USA as weak as possible.
Neither the Saudis or Soros cares about American eagles.

And the eagles don’t donate to the enviromental jihadists (or to Obama, who also cares not a wit about America or its eagles since he is on the same Saudi Soros linked payroll)

(interestingly, the Saudis like falcons, which are sort of like eagles.... but they have their own birds over there already anyway so they still don’t give a damn about America or American birds)

Not to nit pick, but I think he is saying that he BELIEVES oil will be needed a long, long time. Not that I disagree with him.

The last numbers I saw put it at 92% oil revenue and 6% oil producing support industries. So It was 98% from the production of oil. That was a year or 2 ago and I could be wrong.

Either way they are in a world of hurt if the price of oil drops to much.

I have seen this man on Charlie Rose PBS show.

He is brilliant.

IF all of the Arab world could emulate him, the wars would stop overnight & they would get into the 21st century.

OTOH, if oil goes up too much then other energy sources become more cost effective. I heard some Arab oil minister say he never wanted to see $150bbl oil again.

Educated in USA.

I have traveled to ME and met a number of high ranking Arabs. They are mostly similarly educated here and are smart.
