In 1974, Time Magazine blamed the cold polar vortex on global cooling.
‘Scientists have found other indications of global cooling. For one thing there has been a noticeable expansion of the great belt of dry, high-altitude polar winds —the so-called circumpolar vortex—that sweep from west to east around the top and bottom of the world.’

To borrow from an item I wrote a few days before Christmas, as Zombie noted at PJM last year, the warnings for what industrialized man should do to fight global cooling are virtually identical to the warnings would-be “climate” “scientists” have given to fight global warming as well. So the bottom line is that global warming is whatever the hell they say it is, and you’ll like it.
Isn’t this “Polar Vortex” the same thing as the “JET STREAM” that always brought us our colder than normal weather in years past?

If every coal fired power plant in the US was closed tomorrow, would there be a measurable change in "global warming"? I don't think so.
As usual Time Magazine is wrong.
It is not global warming or climate change.
It is Weather Change. It happens every day, sometimes every hour!
The “climate & weather” of this planet have both been changing for approximately 4.5 billion years, or 6,000 years if you are a fan of Bishop Usher who calculated that the earth was created in 4004 BC.
Folks need to look beyond their own life time memory. I recall a part of “A child’s Christmas in Wales” — “I don’t remember if it snow everyday for 12 days when I was 6 or that it snowed for 6 days when I was 12.”
The scientists got nothing. They don’t even know if any warming is not just occurring naturally. That’s why they continue to MANIPULATE THE DATA, and then rely on the socialist frauds in the MSM to HIDE THE DECLINE AND COVER THEIR BEHIND.
I notice that Time also declared that ‘we can’t beat the Soviets’ in 1977.
