If illegals didn’t count — how many House seats would CA have?

And there’s really a major issue with counting illegals for divvying up federal benefits.
1) They shouldn’t have access to federal benefits, and
2) If they don’t have access to federal benefits, their local regions shouldn’t get more resources because of their headcount.
Take away the redistribution incentive and local districts may be less supportive of illegals and more supportive of immigration enforcement. That’s what really should be going on.
When you legalize their status, you issue them work permits, SSNs, access to the social welfare system, etc., and you enable them to sponsor tens of millions of their relatives thru chain migration, i.e., family reunification. It is pure insanity.
Rush doesn't understand that even if we keep the status quo of importing 1.2 million LEGAL IMMIGRANTS, the Dems will become the permanent majority party. Amnesty just hastens the process. 87% of the 1.2 million LEGAL IMMIGRANTS are minorities as defined by the USG. In effect, we are already importing hundreds of thousands of future Dem voters every year. Immigrants and minorities vote two to one for the Dems.
And in terms of jobs, we are killing American workers and depressing wages. The GOP is being pressured by their corporate paymasters to double the number of guest workers. So by legalizing the status of 11 to 20 million lawbreakers and issuing them work permits coupled with a doubling of guest workers to 1.4 million a year, we will hurt native born Americans with over 20 million unemployed or underemployed. This is insane and the GOP will have jumped the shark on the job issue.
Time for a third party.

I am not talking about individual welfare. I am talking about fed payments to states.
Immigrants, legal and illegal, are already getting federal benefits along with state and local benefits depending on where they live. The illegals get most of the benefits thru their US born children, e.g., food stamps and Medicaid.
Those of us living in California know exactly what giving amnesty to millions of lawbreaking foreign nationals does. What has happened here will be coming to the rest of you if the Chamber of Commerce and their comrades in the Amnesty wing of the GOP get their way.
I was stuck with worthless John Campbell as my Congressman until redistricting changed the district. That fool knows full well the damage inflicted by illegals but he’s never done a damned thing to end it. Of course he’s a loyal member of the Boehner-Bush wing of the party so why would he?
Yeah, but a lot of those payments are supposedly to support the illegal population as well.
Cut that back and the states will be less eager to shelter illegals. Now they have a powerful incentive to protect them.
But they shouldn’t.
In CA, one in four is foreign born (27.1% according to the Census Bureau.) Electorally, we can see the consequences. CA is the canary in the coal mine. By 2050 the demographics of the US will be similar to those of CA today.

They shouldn’t? By law, we have birthright citizenship, which means that every child born here (aside from the children born of accredited diplomats) is a citizen of the US with all of the benefits and rights that entails.
We must be miscommunicatin’. I’m not for birthright citizenship for children of non-Americans: I’d like to stop the anchor baby incentive.
But I’m talking about illegals, not young American citizens by current interpretation of our laws.
