Box of Stashed Ballots Could Invalidate Contested Broomfield Election [vote fraud Colorado ]
Colorado Observer. ^ | January 8, 2014 | Leslie Jorgensen

Posted on 01/08/2014 10:46:14 AM PST by george76

In the wake of lawsuits and complaints against Broomfield for attempts to cover up and ignore problems in the error-riddled November election, city officials now admit finding a box containing about 75 ballots that for unknown reasons were not counted or reconciled to the voter records.

...

Unknown is where the ballots came from, why they were tossed in a box, who had access to them and why they were not properly processed – even spoiled ballots are processed and documented to reconcile election records. Blank ballots are processed through the voting machines and accounted for.

The box of ballots is the latest quirk in questions about the integrity of the Broomfield election. Records also indicate that Susek or a city employee repeatedly logged into the ballot accounting database as the administrator and downloaded vote tallies repeatedly for two weeks before the Nov. 5 election.

...

Broomfield election officials have been accused of numerous election violations that were detailed in a scathing report by Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler’s office. Last month, Marilyn Marks of Citizen Center filed a detailed complaint with the Secretary of State’s office and two lawsuits were filed by BBEC.

On behalf of Broomfield, Tuthill filed a lawsuit against Marks to block her access to public election records. The case was heard Monday by Wasserman who allotted 10 days for the both parties to file summary arguments.

Did the Dem win? If so, these fraudulent ballots must not have been needed.

Validity of the ballots depends on party affiliation of the candidate that lost.

The vote concerned fracking.

The controversy surronds an anti-fracking amendment that failed in the initial count - then magically passed in the recount.

In unofficial election night results, the anti-fracking measure was failing by 13 votes, but after outstanding ballots were counted a week later, it was approved by 17 votes. The measure, which was subject to a mandatory recount because the margin of victory was so slim, passed by 20 votes after the recount was completed.

the 75 or more ballots cast by voters which were not processed, counted and reconciled far exceeds the narrow 20-vote margin victory of the controversial fracking ban measure.

These are the same people who insist “we won, you lost, now shut up”.

I really have serious contempt for people who dither with election results, not that I am naive to think it doesn’t happen all the time. It’s obviously another brick on the side of the scales against amnesty, as far as I’m concerned. I think the penalties should be severe.

Reminds me of the episode of “Carter Country” where they found a box of uncounted ballots in the city hall basement.

They immediately thought it was some kind of voter fraud and would turn the results of the last election for mayor.

They assembled the candidates and officials to open the box and count the ballots to determine the results.

They opened the box and read aloud the first name of the candidate that received a vote:

GOLDWATER..................ONE.................

Ok...so the question I'd like answered is, what party affiliation does Election Manager Michael Susek claim? Do I even need to ask?

Broomfield was a small bedroom community until a bunch of high tech firms such as Sun starting building huge business campuses there.

The original council got run out of town for Peyton Place like shenanigans (affairs, etc.)

I lost track of what happened after the eBusiness "Congruence Corridor" went from boom to bust.

I have a feeling that this has more to do with typical human failings (e.g. the seven deadly sins) than Democrat vs. Republican.

It was a pretty nutty ballot issue to begin with and a couple of counties voted to ban fracking. Lol.

Weren't they just throwing the identifiable boxes in the bay, unopened?

Not just disposing of the contents...

I was listening to a radio show relating to the Broomfield election. It seems a box of ballots from boulder had been sent by maybe Fed Ex to the Broomfield election officials. The official did not have any documentation for the ballots but wanted to count them anyway. After word of the ballots got out she backed off but count results went form one party to another. With a goofball governor like Chickenpooper why would any one expect any action on voter fraud. Chickenpooper is the one that would not even talk to the state Sheriffs over the unworkable gun laws.

They need a machine where in order to register the vote you stick your arm in it and it takes your finger prints. If it detects the finger prints do not mact the name or the name and finger prints were used already inthe same election a guiotine blade comes down and solves the voter fraud issue for you....

No repeat offenders of vote fraud....

Granted that is a bit extreme, maybe why not just prosecute voter fraud the same way treason is not prosecuted anymore but used to be....

billions of dollars worth of transactions happen online securely every year

why don’t we have a voting system that cannot have votes ‘added’ without belonging to valid voters? why can’t we stop multiple voters? why can’t we verify our voting slip after the fact to insure it was counted properly?

it’s VERY possible... of course, then they wouldn’t be able to muck with the outcomes

The Democrats can basically commit voter fraud and get away with it — without the RNC ever stepping in to do anything about it.

The point here is the clerk had access to the early votes in the database to determine what kind of FIX would need to be put in. If clerks have access to how who voters are voting, we have to assume this is possible with every voting machine!!

True, because systems are designed to ensure that transactions are identifiable and traceable, so that if there's a hiccup while processing a transfer from one account to another, each account can be examined to see whether or not the transfer has been processed. Ballots are explicitly designed not to be identifiable and traceable, for purpose of making it impossible for people to show how they voted (nothing can prevent someone from being paid $100 for a promise to vote for someone, but it shouldn't be possible for that person to prove that they earned the money).

Still, it should be easy to guard against misplaced ballots. Within a minute of polls closing, it should be possible to absolutely positively determine how many cast ballots there are supposed to be at each polling place, and even before any ballots are counted it should be possible to get an absolutely-accurate tally of how many ballots there should be at each office. The total numbers of cast ballots should be 100% traceable (e.g. so one can tell at any time which precincts have or have not yet been included in the tally). If all election reports are required to include counts of ballots which are spoiled or have not yet been examined, the total number of ballots in the system should remain absolutely constant, and any deviation whatsoever should be immediately detectable.

Apparently Colorado votes mostly by mail ballots which can be mailed or dropped
at locations and in person if so desired.

http://www.ci.broomfield.co.us/DocumentCenter/View/6565

The recount shows the following result

10361 For [ban on fracking]
10341 Against
21033 total votes cast [accepted, rejected, not counted]
