"The New York State Legislature needs to Raise the Age of criminal responsibility, and they need to do it this year," demands the subheadline on MSNBC.com's landing page this afternoon for a story headlined, "Stop charging kids as adults." The column, co-authored by former NAACP president Ben Jealous and actress Rosario Dawson, promotes a push by the Citizens Committee for Children of New York [CCCNY] to change Empire State law so that minors aged 16 years old cannot be charged as adults.
Jealous and Dawson don't disclose to what age they believe the age of criminal responsibility should be raised, but they do include a reference to mental maturity which suggests they might be happy with it falling somewhere in the mid-20s:
Why is this an issue? Just to change a bunch of arbitrary stuff that happens to regulate or affect large, large componenets of the social order....just to do it?
They consider the population to be nothing but lab rats to conduct their experiments on.
The rats would still find a way to rig and steal elections.
I just assumed when I started reading the headline they were going to push to LOWER the age of responsibility!

Just make it the same as the voting age. And also make the requirements for voting be the same as the requirements for buying a gun. (Either complete background check for both, or no ID necessary for either, or anywhere in between.)

So lets see. Libs insist 10 year olds are mature enough to make decisions regarding sex, but a 24 year old shouldn’t be charged if they murder someone because they are still mentally immature.

Since Obamacare considers adults up to 26 to be treated as “kids” and remain on their parents’ insurance, I believe they are too ‘mentally immature’ to be given voting rights.
So, if someone under 26 commits a major felony, they should just be tossed in juvie detention until 26 and then moved into an ‘adult’ prison to serve out the rest of the sentence? .....Also, what about military service? Are they saying that the vast majority of our volunteer military are ‘mentally immature’?

Jealous is just taking a hard look at Black demographics and comes to the realization that he will, in the not too distant future, run out of “sperm donors” unless something is done to keep them out of prison. Now New York’s gun control measures make more sense. We can’t have people Blacks assault offing them before they go to court to be tried as “minors.”
Don’t forget... those 25 year olds should need parental consent for their abortions too in many states, if the libs want to go down this road.

The nice thing about concealed carry is that it sets the Age of Criminal Responsibility at whatever age someone needs to be to threaten death or serious bodily harm. If government is unwilling to do its job, America needs more concealed carry, as Detroit’s new police chief, James Craig, observed.
These are the kinds of people that should disappear...

Let’s raise the voting age too then. And if they re-instate the draft then the entry age will be 25. Of course then we will have to examine under-age sex and marriage.
