Indeed, al Qaeda appears to control more territory in the Arab world than it has done at any time in its history.
The focus of al Qaeda's leaders has always been regime change in the Arab world in order to install Taliban-style regimes. Al Qaeda's leader Ayman al-Zawahiri acknowledged as much in his 2001 autobiography

Now al-Qa’eda gets to cause all the “man-caused disasters” they please, within and without the territory they now control.
Well, that first one is either true or false depending on the direction they were running in. The POTUS refused to specify.

I hope some future Republican presidential candidate highlights this democrat military failure.
What was it exactly that we gained by fighting in the Middle East for the past 15 years? Is America any better off or do we just consider the wounded and dead troops as a cost of doing war business? Have we as citizens gained a damn thing from all of this?
The problem isn’t the wars its the strategy, the rules of engagement. We didn’t restrain the military in the Civil War, WW1 or WW2 which is why we won them.
