Opponents of an effort to unionize family child-care providers have long suspected but could never prove that some taxpayer money designated for training was instead used for union organizing.
There now appears to be a smoking gun that supports their allegation mandated disclosure forms, uncovered by Watchdog Minnesota Bureau, were filed with the U.S. Department of Labor.by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees
Two LM-2 annual financial reports filled out byAFSME Council 5 in 2011 and 2012 show $33,300 in taxpayer money from Ramsey County DHS Department of Community Human Services were categorized as an organizing reimbursement and apparently spent on organizing for a controversial child-care providers union.
It angers me that my tax money is going to do the one thing that is going to hurt me, saidCyndi Cunningham, an opponent of a provider union who operates her own St. Paul child-care business.

If ever there was a tip of the iceberg political issue it would be the expediture of tax money in an effort to destroy the vision of the founding fathers. You can bet that if it is in the interest of progressive issues, public funds are being used to further the effort.
All the more reason to cut off the federal government from it’s insanely large and unending source of public funding. As things stand the IRS demands payment direct from taxpayers. That should cease as taxpayers are earning their money in a particular state and therefor the state should get first crack at the money earned within their borders.
If anything remains or on a total take basis, the Federal leviathan gets no more than ten percent of the total. Churches have grown wealthy on the Lord’s portion, surely the Federal Government should have the same opportunity?
That is one of the reasons we need to ban public sector unions, they should not be able to use my tax money against me.
“ban public sector unions”
They take that statement and run with it, however, I am in complete agreement with you. Especially any Federal Union.
The issue seems lost on the average citizen that someone else is making decisions with your money, again especially at the Federal level.
At the state level some states have remained wary, others are out of control. Teachers, cops, firefighters, and bureaucrats are some of the worst, offenders.
To rid America of such crime, America must rid its self of the criminals.
Especially teachers; I am in WI and really sick of the greedy, whiny arrogant pieces of human trash. After Act 10 and the recalls I have no use for them, at least the public school teachers. What really frosts me are the “TEACHERS CARE” bumper stickers.
What really frosts me are the TEACHERS CARE bumper stickers.
I’ll bet you finish that thought every time you see one.
Yea, like that was the case when they trashed the Capitol.
I actually designed a bumper sticker that says “TEACHERS STINK” with piles of crap on each side. I’m holding off on putting it on until either my daughter graduates from HS or the teachers throw another tantrum.
