New Jersey lawmakers investigating the George Washington Bridge lane closure scandal held a former Port Authority executive in contempt today for refusing to answer questions about his role in the controversy.

After losing a bid to quash a subpoena, former Port Authority executive David Wildstein invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 20 times at a state assembly hearing, refusing to answer any questions related to the political payback scheme.

Providing only his name and the town where he lives, Wildstein remained silent about even the most innocuous of questions, including where he worked and whether a message with his name on it was an email or a text.

“On the advice of counsel I assert my right to remain silent,”

I listened to most of the presser and found one thing kind of curious.

Near the end of his commentary or during the questioning reference was made to the traffic slowdown being because of a traffic study. As soon as that came up, Christie referenced the traffic study a dozen times or more.

In one of the live threads FR posters were comparing it to a certain video/movie excuse for the Benghazi attacks.

It should be illegal for anyone, R, D, or I,or whatever their affiliation, that hold a government office or position to be able plead the 5th in connection with their job. The 5th should be reserved for only those that are in a personal criminal case. This should especially true for those that are elected or appointed.

This reveals the real problem with this vast electronic trolling by the NSA.

I am absolutely convinced that these vast archives are used in political targeting.

I’m sure pretty soon someone will call for charges to be brought up against Christie. They will call it a wrongful death case because of the woman who was unable to get an ambulance during the traffic tie up.

I would like to encourage investigators to also look into the number of people who may have died while Bill Clintoon had traffic and an entire airport shut down for a haircut.

Christie’s associates block a bridge and it’s the end of the world. Obama uses the IRS to hinder his opposition in an election year, and everyone in the media looks the other way.

Anybody want to offer an opinion about which is the worse offense?

Why would anyone with half a brain close traffic durning peak times to “study” it?

Both equally. It’s about government corruption and abuse of power. The form it takes doesn’t matter to me.

Christy is too good of windbag liar. This is more threatening competition to them than a truthful conservative.

It remains to be seen if Christie had anything to do with this...

Nevertheless, he clearly needs to reconsider the integrity and intelligence of the company he keeps, and the people he hires.
