In a statement, Duncan wrote that data show black students were three times more likely than whites to be suspended or expelled, according to Reuters.

And students with disabilities, despite making up about 12 percent of students in the United States, also make up almost 20 percent of those suspended and almost 25 percent of those arrested for a school-related infraction.

Yup, allowing the black students to slap teachers, or shoot them. Whites automatically go to jail. Local schools around here have severe problems. 98% of the problems are blacks. Sorry, but that is simply the way it is. Everyone of the incidents involving teacher-student hands on incidents are black students. Have not seen or heard of any white kids attacking a teacher. We have several teachers in our church and they are ladies and they are afraid of some of their students.

Yeah, that’s the ticket. Let ‘em run even wilder than they do now. See how that works for American cities and crime rates.

Regardless of the racial makeup percentage, if they didn’t commit most of the crimes, the stats wouldn’t be what they are. Duh.

We must stop behavior inequality. Punish the good students at a higher rate. Level the playing field.

Cutting Racial Disparity In School Discipline

You know what would help a lot would be cutting the disparity in school behavior.

In a way, it's good these people are being so nakedly evil and stupid. They're giving all the bad ideas a bad name all at once.

Laws and rules do not apply to Negroes, just racist Whites.

I know several teachers in the inner-city schools that are afraid of their students.
When kids are not disciplined at home , why should they expect discipline at school, much less taught self-control ?
Many inner-city schools are little more than "day care" ; education is a secondary cosideration.
COMMON CORE is the 'dumbing down' of education to the lowest common denomerator, and is encouraged by the FED as 'leveling the playing field' ..

The Founding States had made the 10th Amendment to clarify that the Constitution’s silence about things like public schools means that such issues are uniquely state power issues.

Duncan also wondered whether "putting children out of school really [is] the best course of action."

Yeah spend all your time with the trouble makers, the kids who want to learn and put in the effort, they can fend for themselves. That's the ticket. It works every time it's tried </sarc>

I'm all for equality. Equal treatment under he law, or rules or policies but no special treatment for any more people in this country no matter how many race cards they play.

If we can ever pry this racist out of the white house we need to elect someone who is sane. Their first job will be to resend each and every executive order and policy change of the Obama catastrophe.

I will guess that one stipulation of federal aid to local schools is obedience to various federal laws and regulations.

The other stipulation is that teacher unions must donate 95% of their political funds to Democrat candidates.

Not this again!

I volunteered in my child’s elementary school as a parent-aid once a week. I saw children misbehave in very serious ways (such as threatening another child with scissors or hitting another child) and they were not disciplined.

When I asked the teacher why she did not do anything she told me she had used up her discipline ‘quota’. They were minorities and apparently she could only discipline so many minority students by a set number of incidents per week. After that, she could get into trouble from the administration if she exceeded the quota.

Meanwhile, my child was disciplined and almost suspended for climbing a tree on the playground!

This was a while back. Needless to say, my child went to a private school after that year.

If your kids are in public school you should become a volunteer and see what all goes on. You will not believe it.
(However, in some schools I’ve heard that parents aren’t even allowed to go into the school and see what goes on).

Does the DOJ seriously believe that the legions of leftists in the public schools actually target minorities for excessive discipline?

REALLY?

I will guess that one stipulation of federal aid to local schools is obedience to various federal laws and regulations.

Noting that public schools are uniquely a state power issue, consider that Justice John Marshall had officially clarified the following concerning Congress's power to lay taxes. Justice Marshall had indicated that Congress is prohibited from laying taxes in the name of state power issues.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

So any federal aid that the feds give to the states for public schools on the stipulation of state compliance with federal laws are arguably state revenues which corrupt Congress wrongly stole from the states in the form of constitutionally indefensible federal taxes.

Furthermore, any federal laws which the feds bully the states to comply with had better be based on the limited powers which the states have expressly delegated to the feds via the Constitution.

Sounds like “quota” system to me. You can only punish students of color so many times in one year. White and Asian students do not have a limit.
