A government minister has risked irritating the US administration by criticising its "old style" approach to IT.

Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude suggested US president Barack Obama should have learned from Britain when putting together the troubled Obamacare health insurance website.

Much as I’d like to bask in the glow of patriotic pride over this, its worth pointing out that there was a massive scandal only a few years ago about a catastrophic cock-up with the NHS’ much-vaunted (and expensive) new IT database:
