Fogel Family Massacre: Appeal Upheld over Lenient Sentencing

TheMilitary Court of Appeals has accepted an appeal against the leniency of the sentence handed to Muhammed Awad by the Samaria Military Court, over his part in the brutal murder of five members of the Fogel family in March 2011.

Muhammed Awad was originally found guilty of accessory to voluntary manslaughter (the military court's equivalent to murder), failing to prevent a crime, weapons trafficking and conspiracy to carry out a shooting.

The military court acquitted Muhammed of the first, most serious charge, finding him guilty only for failing to prevent a crime, as well as the latter two charges, which he had already plead guilty to.

Awad was sentenced to just five years in jail, as well as to a period of probation and a fine.

The prosecution appealed both his acquittal on the most serious charge, as well as the relatively light sentence he received for those crimes he was found guilty of. The lightness of the sentence was particularly stark in light of the brutality of the massacre itself.

The appeals court opted not to interfere in the original ruling itself, but accepted the petitioners' appeal regarding the lightness of the sentencing handed to Awad. The court asserted that Awad's actions were particularly severe, and thus the maximum possible sentence should have been handed to him. As a result, it ruled that Awad would have to serve another two years - seven in total - before being released on parole.

The State of Israel, in the entirety of its modern existence, has only applied the death penalty to one, count them, one individual, to my best knowledge. That was Adolf Eichmann, who undoubtedly deserved what he got.

I find it somewhat tragic that Israel does not treat others, who, like Eichmann either advocate, or in fact participate, in the killing of Jewish people simply because they *exist*, in a like fashion...

Arabs in glorious Palestine, btw, can get the death penalty for selling land to Jooos!, publicly defaming Islam or declaring themselves atheists, or “collaborating”. One government worker at the PA, disgusted with not only the corruption but also with the PA and Abbas’ indifference to it, took pictures he had of a corrupt official demanding a sexual bribe from a Christian woman in Bethlehem who had asked him for a job, and gave them to Maariv, which ran them on the front page. The poor whistle blower was charged with “spying,” which carries—you guessed it!—a capital sentence. The western MSM naturally ignored the whole thing.

In the future, when there’s a terrorist release for the sake of some kidnapped soldier or “negotiations,” we should have Shin Bet spread the word that the released prisoners are collaborating, selling land to Jooos! or spying, and open a facebook page for them that professes atheism and compares Allah to a petty Bedouin chieftain. That way two wrongs will make a right.
