Ted Cruz: Democrats will rue letting President Obama’s lawlessness slide
The Statesman ^ | Jan 10, 2014 | Jonathan Tilove

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, charged President Obama with a pattern of “lawlessness on a breathtaking scale” that he said even liberal Democrats will come to regret when a future president seeks to exercise similar unbridled power.

Cruz said Friday morning at the last day of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Policy Orientation for the Texas Legislature that, from giving relief from departation to some young unauthorized immigrants to enforcement of drug laws to waiving rules for Obamacare, the president has acted by executive fiat in defiance of the rule of law.

“We are a nation of laws and not men,” said Cruz. “If we had a system where a president can pick and choose what laws to follow at utter whim … that is seriously dangerous.”

Cruz said the liberal media refuses to accurately report the threat to liberty of the Obama presidency, and makes excuses for the president’s overreaches.

But, he said, “If you’re a liberal, if you’re a Democrat, if you’re a reporter for the New York Times, maybe you’re saying, `he’s my guy. I root for my guy. I don’t like some of the things he’s doing but he’s basically my guy so he’s OK.’”

But Cruz warned those with that mindset that they ought to contemplate that their “guy ain’t gonna be there forever. If this president has that power so does the next one and the next one and the next one, and my message to all the Democrats and all the liberals is, what do you think about the next president, maybe a Republican, having the power Barack Obama has as a president who is not bound by the law?”

“If you love liberty, that should concern you greatly,” said Cruz.

The media and Dem politicians have sculptures of three monkeys.

“Hear no truth”

“See no truth”

“Speak no truth”

Selective Enforcement of the law is just as if not worse than outright despotism, because it is hidden from sight and gives the illusion of a supposedly working system...

Ted should just ask the RATS: are you OK with me doing the same things to you that Zero has done to TEA and conservatives?

Were Obama a Republican the Democrat leadership and their allies in the press would have seen to it that the Nation was in a full-blown constitutional crisis within a year of his first election. Based on the way the ACA was passed and Fast and Furious the 24/7 news coverage would have made re-election impossible.

No they wont. When the next President (Republican) tries this crap, the Rats will just challenge it in court and shut him down.

I have voted for Cruz twice, first in the primary and then in the general. I would definitely vote for him if he does decide to run for president. That being said, if he were to win and become our next president, does anyone feel that he would actually seek to prosecute 0bama, Holder, and others for their actions?

Turn about is fair play and it will happen. The nectar Repugli can President should in one executive order strike down all of Obama’s 1000 plus laws by fiat.

Great. Cruz is promising he will not follow laws either, as retribution.

Not a single one of these idiots gets it.

He’s not correct.

Conservatives won’t abuse power the way liberals do.
And that’s just a fact.

Courts shut him down? This hasn’t worked on Barry the boy king so therefore it doesn’t apply to the next guy. It is like the new senate rules will screw Hairy Screed.

But Cruz warned those with that mindset that they ought to contemplate that their “guy ain’t gonna be there forever."

Yep. Obama is not immortal no matter how much "transcending" the left does.

No amount of "Hope" and "Change" will afford Obama the ability to out do God.

Obama is an empty vessel made of clay and will wither into dust inside a heated "paradise" not of his own making.

The next republican president can operate like Obama and start right off with having private, closed door “meetings” with members of the press.

Probably not prosecute them. It will take 20 years of solid conservative rule to undo everything Da One has done in 8

Why would a conservative President want to have closed door meetings with Democrat operatives in the press?

Walk this cat all the way back and one comes to the conclusion the Rats are not planning on allowing the Pubbies to come to power, ever. And they just might pull it off, if they can cook the voting rolls enough.

Too many of the GOPe are happy being a minority party. Robert Michel comes to mind.

The first thing that comes to my mind is that scene in an Al Capone movie where Capone is having a meeting with his “associates” and a baseball bat.

No, it won’t. Cruz will just rollback and repeal everything zero has done, and won’t have to campaign for it because the people will be demanding he do it. Should take a year or two at most.

“We are a nation of laws and not men,” said Cruz.

Sorry Ted. That hasn't been true for a long time. The only reason people don't realize that this has essentially become a banana republic is because the American propaganda machine is more effective than anything else on the planet.
