Jeb Bush is best presidential candidate for GOP in 2016
Clearwater Gazette ^ | 1/9/13 | Barney Bishop

Posted on 01/10/2014 11:24:51 AM PST by jimbo123

As the political winds are turning to presidential politics in 2016, now is the time for Republicans to start thinking about their ticket. I know it's early, but the top of the Democratic ticket has already been pretty much decided by the mainstream media. It's Hillary and whoever she wants as her veep.

For the Republicans, they will need someone at the top of the ticket who is principled. He'll keep his campaign promises. He must have an economic issue that will resonate with women because men already support the GOP. Women — especially independent women — are the holy grail of a winning national campaign.

In my opinion, it can't be someone from the far right, the Tea Party.

-snip-

That means Jeb Bush as the presidential nominee and either Scott Walker or Chris Christie as the vice-presidential candidate.

Many will say there is Bush fatigue. Many will say that Christie is not conservative enough. But Christie can attract Northeastern Republicans and Democrats — voters the GOP will need in 2016.

I predicted this, the Rovians were just waiting for their chance and now thanks to either fate (or a planned hatched job) it's Jeb time. Jeb versus Hillary...let's party like it's 1992...with most likely the same outcome...

If Jeb Bush is the best candidate the GOP can field, looks like I’ll be staying home or voting third party.

From 1952 to 2008 with one exception (1964) there was either a Nixon, a Dole or a Bush on the Republican national ticket. Then we lost with McCain (the runner up in 2000) and Romney (the runner up in 2008).

THERE ARE OTHER REPUBLICANS OUT THERE YOU KNOW!!!

We don’t need another retread or establishment name or worthless moderate to continue the oligarchy!

So says .... Barney Bishop (?!)... on the opinion page of the illustrious Clearwater Gazette!

- Barney Bishop is a conservative Democrat [BZZZ; NO such thing exists] who was executive director of the Florida Democratic Party in the early nineties. He's a serial entrepreneur [I think this means he's had multiple bankrupties] who was also the president and CEO of Associated Industries of Florida for seven years. An avid student of politics, he has lived and worked as a lobbyist and political consultant in Tallahassee for the last 30 years. Barney can be reached at barney@barneybishop.com.

It's coming from the leftists in Big Media, and the idiots who run the Republican Party ... the same morons who at various times in the past have insisted that ONLY Romney, Giuliani, McCain, etc. can possibly beat the selected Democrat bogeyman du jour.

First the writer is a “conservative Democrat” or so says the blurb at the end. So once again, Dems are trying to influence our candidate choice. Second, Jeb Bush is a supporter of Common Core, probably one of the worst government pushed education programs that is nothing more than the liberal philosophy pushed on young minds.

I live in a parallel universe where up is up, down is down, wrong is wrong, and evil is evil, and, Cruz is the best presidential candidate for America, not for just himself and his little kingdom...unlike 0bummer, Bush, etc.

I’d bet if 500 random 6th graders were polled and asked, “Who is the king of America?”, I’d bet they’d say Ob*ma at a 40% clip. Yep, that is where I think the miseducation level is in America now.

I don't see this happening at all. I think the Bush name will be absolutely radioactive in national politics for years.

The great irony here is that Jeb Bush was probably far better qualified to be the President of the United States than George W. was.

Once again, the Democrat media is attempting to choose the Republican presidential candidate, ensuring that (a) he’ll be a dedicated liberal in Republican camouflage and, (b) he’ll have no chance. Anyone who thinks Jeb Bush and Chris Christie would be a winning Republican presidential/vice presidential combination is either insane or, more likely Karl Rove.

The ‘RATS and the GOP both are scared to death that a pro-America, tax cutter will win the nomination. A giant setback for the thieving commie DemocRATS who have their voter base convinced that hardworking, TEA Party taxpayers should support their freeloading lifestyles.
