I don't understand why when someone does something good for someone, the first thing that happens is a bunch of people with their minds in the gutter attach a sex angle. have you not heard of someone doing something good for someone without attaching an ulterior motive???

While I realize many would believe there is an ulterior motive such as you two have suggested, after watching the short video clip and reading the article it appears the owner is acting out of a pure heart.

The girls mother also works at the restaurant, and lost her husband the girls father to a tumor.

This family has had hard times.

Unless proven otherwise - it is best to assume this is as advertised. Generosity to help someone in trouble.

I understand that the heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9) - but it is best not to project one's inner darkness upon another.

“Never mind the ObamaCare angle....this is an act of amazing kindness.”

My point is that it isn’t necessary for him to sell his business.

“- but it is best not to project one’s inner darkness upon another. “

I have never found it necessary to do so. Most folks project their own darkness ll enough all on their own.

Oh, my goodness, Montgomery is about 10 miles west of me. There is a big, divided highway all the way there and a number of upper class subdivisions around that side of the lake and that big highway is our main thoroughfare through that area. Down that highway and come to the middle of the town of Montgomery.

Wonder why she can’t sign up for Medicaid and have the operation?

If he has less than 40 or 50 emoloyees(whatever that number is), which is likely, Obamacare won’t impact his business, as he is not obligated to provide health insurance.

in this world due to our current sin natures there aren’t any 100% altruistic acts. there may be 99% or better, but not 100%. still given our human conditions at the moment, something near 100% altruistic is remarkable.

“She didn’t look very hard. There are plenty of doctors who and hospitals who would do it for free.”

You are living in dream land. No hospital is going to do that without money. Perhaps the surgeon if he works for himself could do it free if he wanted, but he is not the hospital.

He must be a conservative. A liberal would sell someone else's business.

You must have a very sad life to automatically suspect such a thing.

This is happening in my county and it is about 98% conservative Republican. All Republicans in all county offices. We have mucho Bubba’s here and the best shooting range around is only several miles from that restaurant. Therefore, I surmise the restaurant owner is a conservative.

Most hospitals have a charity discount program. As a 19 year old waitress, I’d think that she would qualify.

Ever hear of St Judes? Or the Shriner’s Hospital? Those aren’t the only two.

And you know this how?

If you read the article, you would see that her dad died when she was little and her mom and older sister also work for the owner. You should be able to read the article and perhaps even comprehend (that is, understand it), as there are only a few words containing more than two syllables.
