U.S. Job Growth Falters As Cold Weather Grips Nation

U.S. employers hired the fewest workers in nearly three years in December, but the setback was likely to be temporary amid signs that unusually cold weather may have had an impact.

The surprisingly weak job growth figures reported by the Labor Department on Friday, however, could cause some discomfort at the Federal Reserve, which last month announced plans to scale back its massive monetary stimulus program.

Nonfarm payrolls rose only 74,000 in December, the smallest increase since January 2011 and well short of the 200,000 jobs or so that most economists had expected.

Wal-Mart and Dollar General sales are lousy.

The economy sucks bilgewater unless you work at Google or the fracking fields.

And in important news, NJFatboy is playing games with traffic cones. Tune in at 11 for the Kardashians 2014 preview.

Normally, statistics like this are seasonally adjusted to take into account things like holidays or cold weather. I guess they forgot to do that this time. [/s]

Right. This one week of bad weather has stymied Dear Leader's job plan. Because, there's NEVER been a week of bad weather in December...right?

Why get out and look for a job, when you can sit on your....comfy couch and wait for your *benefits* to roll in?

This comment posted over there made me laugh hysterically!

” Proud Obama Liberal 1 hour ago

Our fine Black president has been the best thing ever to happen to people like me, who choose to not work. Now I have insurance and probably make more tax free money than a college grad. Plus the free phone, rent, internet,, electric and gas, and I don’t have to go out in the cold.

Obozo is my Shepherd; I shall not work.
He maketh me to lie down and watch Oprah:
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my bling bling:
He leadeth me in the paths of idleness for Husseins name sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the sharing of the wealth,
I will fear no workfare: For thou art funding me;
Thy gat and thy blade, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of people who actually produce;
Thou annointest my teeth with gold;Our crack pipes runneth over.
Surely rebates and Earned Income Credits shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Obozo forever...
Amen!

Someone said a sucker is born every minute and you brainwashed Obozo worshiping imbecilic liberal democrapz that suffer white guilt prove it each and every day, thanks for the free ride off the hardworking and struggling middle class tax payers , you MSNBC watching moronz got your CHANGE after all huh ?”

The economy is weak because of climate change, as the headline implies.

Irrefutable proof that the economy is bursting at the seams;.

In a sign of growing confidence in the economy's prospects, the Fed announced in December that it would trim its monthly bond purchases to $75 billion from $85 billion.

That's convoluted, circumlocution logic at its Obama truth is a lie, fake is real dogmatic worst.

I think they're suggesting that this past week's cold snap is responsible for the bad job market in December.

Two days of cold weather at the tail end of the month caused the jobs report to be off by 125,000 ....and they say it with a straight face.
