Another headache for New Jersey's Christie: class-action lawsuit
Yahoo News ^ | January 10, 2014 | Andrew Longstreth

Posted on 01/11/2014 8:44:48 AM PST by ZULU

A personal injury lawyer from Fort Lee, New Jersey, filed the case in federal court on behalf of six local residents who missed work or suffered other alleged damages due to the traffic jam last September. Many more people could join the plaintiffs if the court allows the case to become a class action.

New Jersey residents will have to dig deep into their pockets to pay for this one. Great going Christie.

Isn’t it amazing the scandals that can be whipped up by the MSM? This scandal pales to the dozens that have come out of the White House. But because the MSM chooses to ignore them, they are nothing.

“Hogwash” .....these cases are going nowhere!!! I cannot stand Christie......but I love how he carved up the Obamabot media and killed their story in one day!!! Oh...yes, the Obamabot media will continue their quest against Christie....but Christie did do them in and showed Obama how a “real” leader and state CEO handles a bad situation!!! The Obamabot media, once again, shows the stupid buffoons they are!!! They will not save Obama. End of story!!!

Well the trial lawyers, er leeches, that propagate in the Dem party will ensure that the legal costs to the state alone will be astronomical. Final result, each who joins the action will get about 1.98 and the lawyers will end up with about 20 million.

FOX pointed out last night that the other major networks devoted less than 2 minutes to IRS Gate and Benghazi Gate COLLECTIVELY. Just ONE of them devoted 12 minutes to BridgeGate.

Good.

This will blow up in THEIR faces also.

“Rosemarie Arnold, the lawyer behind the lawsuit, said she has received “tons” of emails from residents detailing damages, including panic attacks, caused by the traffic jam.
“I have no political motivation whatsoever,” said Arnold, who specializes in cases involving car accidents, defective products and wrongful death. “I’M A REPUBLICAN. I VOTED FOR HIM.”
The lawsuit names Christie, the state of New Jersey, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and the governor’s aides as defendants.
Some experts were skeptical of the lawsuit’s chances.”

Just proof that scum PI lawyers come in all flavors!

I can’t stand the man, and hate what he did at the last minute during that damn hurricane, and lost it for our freedom... I will never forgive him for that... or better yet, I will always have that in the back of my mind about his motives.

however, I won’t be a water boy for the left on this issue. closing a entrance lanes to a bridge is peanuts, compared to what this zero Prez has done and will do.. .peanuts....

we ain’t seen nutt’n yet... look, if Fast and Furious, wiretapping the press, IRS scandal and Benghazi aren’t enough to peak the interest of the press, then nothing will be... Benghazi continues to be in my mind the negligence of a traitor, and should have led to impeach proceedings and full out press investigation...

look for more scandals, to be ignore of course by all but our press and bulletin board sites like this one.

The lawsuit is absurd and the lawyer should be disbarred.

Yeah, all those 80 and 90 year old vets didn’t have “panic attacks,” they just piled up the barricades and went to visit their memorial. Traffic cones are much easier to move. Just goes to show you that those who use the GW Bridge from Ft. Lee haven’t got the brains to come in out of the rain.

The NY media always over-reports what goes on there and ignores what goes on in the rest of the country...politics, sports, weather, you name it!

They must not be aware that real Republicns think Christie is a rude jerk who runs around with Barry in little white Keds...and cries when he talks to Springteen on the phone.

Christie is more arrested development than mature man, IMO.

The business model of the MSM is to not to objectively inform the people, or to ferret out corporate and political corruption as it once did. Instead it partners up with those it should be exposing.

The consolidated MSM is an opportunist organization that intentionally muzzles and divides the public through the use of the bully pulpit of political correctness, while profiting from the divide, and becoming more powerful in the process. They consider themselves worthy of king making and us the schmucks.

Governor Christie,

Do you now understand that Liberals and RINOs are not your friends??

As El Rushbo pointed out yesterday, this current fiasco probably wouldn’t have damaged Christie among conservatives; what destroyed Christie among conservatives was his walk on the beach during the primary with the Marxist in Chief.

“Traffic cones are much easier to move. Just goes to show you that those who use the GW Bridge from Ft. Lee haven’t got the brains to come in out of the rain.”

Why are people like robots to some vague authority represented by traffic cones? When you see traffic cones on the road closing multiple lanes, wasting millions of hours of precious time, and costing lives while nothing apparent is happening, it was time for a mass tea party rebellion to throw them overboard. Americans need to call BS when they see it and fight being stepped on.

I’m surprised the Stazi wasn’t out there doing DNA swabs while they had the traffic stopped.

Do you honestly think Governors know about each street closing in their state?

Show me some proof, any proof, that Christie gave orders to do this and I agree he must go.

Otherwise this is just another trumped up witch hunt fostered by Democrats on a feigned (political) rampage.

I will never vote for Christie, but him not being selected to run as our representative will be something Republicans should determine, and not the Democrats or their pets with a press card.

Re: the media’s obsession with a closed bridge

no one closed the bridge. Three of four lanes to toll booths were shut down coming from Ft Lee. Eight other toll booth lanes coming from farther west remained open. These twelve lanes funnel into four eastbound lanes across the river. There is also a lower deck with more lanes.

Why do we seem to buy into the misleading language provided by the leftist media? What did happen is bad enough without giving the country the impression that the only bridge into Manhattan from the west was completely shut down.

That’s true. None the less every governor has a full calendar of events they must stick to. They generally work long hours filled with meeting after meeting, event after event, and matters they have to study when there is time to.

So yes, that bridge is a big deal, and yes it may have been on the news, and yes it’s possible that it didn’t hit Christie’s attention until much later than it would the general public’s.

Does it really make sense to you that Christie, a man considered to be a possible presidential contender, would risk it all on a road closure to get even?

What took place doesn’t pass the sniff test. I’ll grant you that.

What they’re proposing he did, doesn’t pass the sniff test for me either.

Thanks ZULU.

I agree. It will be interesting to watch play out.

Meanwhile, so many more dangerous scandals go lacking for any interest from the media.

Just the way Christie took on the press and answered questions until there were no more, has Obama done that once on any issue? No. But then the press doesn’t have more than one question on an issue from him, so I guess you could say he has stood there until all questions were answered in a manner of speaking.

Of course the FoxNews rep has a muzzle on.

If Christie were a statesman, which is what’s needed for the next GOP pres candidate, He’d use the attention and say, yeah, my people did this, it’s what we do here to keep things running, you all know that. You want me to resign over it? Fine. But you media worms need to be doing your jobs and reporting on the real scandals. Start with Amnesty, then Benghazi, then F&F etc.

That’s what he should do. But he won’t. And that’s why the media will get out ahead and pulverize him for their leader.
These guys can either snivel and try to please the media and lose every time, or stand up for the Constitution and the rule of law and win
