"Alarming West Coast sardine crash radiating through ecosystem"

The herring run is however tremendous. Frankly this is just alarmist BS. You should learn something about a truly dangerous chemical hazard, Oxidane.

The material does not burn in the combustible sense....it becomes molten.
It doesn’t float about on the breeze anymore than molten lava does....unless ejected into the atmosphere by some physical force it remains where it is....
to be cooled by water from a distance...and thus washed into the Pacific.
Virtually NONE of the material entered the atmosphere. Not zero but close.

For anyone interested in a rational, well-researched piece on this story:

The World is at a critical crossroads.

Yeah, I always believe anything that follows that particular opening statement...

Thank you for posting that link, dirtboy.

One less item on my “worry list”.

I hadn’t heard of the sea star deaths, so looked it up. Hmmm. http://www.ctvnews.ca/sci-tech/b-c-scientists-baffled-by-sudden-deaths-of-thousands-of-starfish-1.1635301

And I put a part of the responsibility for this on the Greens for blocking any permanent solution to nuclear waste disposal. All over the world we have used cores in “ temporary” storage, RIGHT NEXT TO the reactors because they won’t allow a permanent solution. In Fukishimas case the stupidity was epic, storing the used cores ON TOP OF THE REACTORS.

From your link, thanks:

Dr. Christopher Mah, a leading sea star expert, says that while all possible causes for the starfish wipeout must be considered, it is unlikely that Fukushima is to blame for the epidemic.

“There just doesn’t seem to be any evidence,” Mah said. “If we are talking about this wave of radiation, that should be affecting everything and we are not seeing that.”
