Hey, I need to pick yer brain about that water heater BBQ Project.
Can you find a link for that project?
Having an email exchange with John Lott. Asking his advice about a research project Im attempting.
Not the old links, but I have the pics in photobucket.
What’s your question?
Oh, the Boss was mulling over building one, and as I recall there were some issues with your initial build.
No big deal, but I immediately thought, Hey! I know a guy that did that.
I was trying to remember what the issues were that you ran into during the project.
I did it on the cheap just to see if it worked. I have about $20 into it.
The main issues have been dry lawns. I set fire to the back yard twice last year.
I cooks very well.
What’s the project?
I thought there was some issue with the construction.
Anyhow it is no big deal, but I immediately thought of you and your project.
The tactical bottle opener is AWESOME!
I’ll copy and paste what I sent him last. When we talked before, I was asking if there are any other of his books in audiobook format. I was surprised that he replied so quickly.
Here’s what I recently sent:
I finished both of your audiobooks, and they were outstanding.
I’m working of trying to find the data on firearms-related crimes here in Colorado from July 1 2013 (When they passed three new gun control laws) through the new year. I want to compare those statistics to previous years to find out if the crime rate went up, down or flatlined. I think it would be a good tool to throw in people’s faces when I’m picking a fight with the gun banners online -a hobby of mine. I’ve checked the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, but could only find data up to 2012, but it might be early at this point.
Do you have any advice or recommendations on how to take on a personal project like this?
Anyhoo, I hope you had a great weekend.
And I look forward to hearing and reading more of your work
I have been fooling around with several G-box midnights and XBMC.
Have 3 programed up and have watched Saving Mr Banks, The secret life of Walter Mitty, Skyfall, Red2,........
I need to get out doors.
That’s amazing, but I can see either a Tax Stamp or outright ban on a TBO, along with the bayonnet lug, coming.
Did you make that, or was it off-the-shelf, maybe from Cabela’s, Brownell’s or somewhere?
Great to see that you are active in this fight.
Good on you and John Lott.
Sweet! That turkey looks kinda “dark”; how’d it turn out?
Have you looked at the folding Troy Tritium Battle Sights?
I want one. Wherever did you get it?
He’s a really nice guy. Worked in Chicago at the same time as Obama.
HOLY CRAP!! He just replied!
I just sent that less than an hour ago!
Gotta go read and reply while I have his attention.
Great job PE!
SHOT show starts this week in Las Vegas.
I wish I could be there.
The TBO is made by ACE Tactical. You can find it at Brownells, Midway, etc. About $15. It’s really a front sling mount, with an extra feature built in.
Wow, .380 is the new hot CCW handgun and I don’t have one!
(Would rather have a 7.62x39 but upper components seem to be almost non-existent so 300 Blackout in the next obvious choice.)
You know how the internet/FR can be, sometimes you get hangfires.
Could you set it on a 3ft x 3ft base of fireproof brick?
It turned out very tasty. Not a great pic, but here it is after the skin came off.
Years ago I had a distant cousin who was Chief of Police in a small town in southeast Missouri. His carry piece was a .380, IIRC it was a Browning but that was long, long time ago.
The more things change the more they stay the same
I haven't yet. I have a set of YHM folding sights and a new red dot already. I may do both and co-witness them.
Cool looking heater griller.
What did you use to make the cutouts?
.380 is about the only caliber I do not own.
I wanted a Romanian Carpati and a Zastava M70 in .380
All I was able to come up with was a Zastava M70 in 32 ACP.
Pretty useless but cool.
OK I’m in.
Ducking and covering!!
The TBO came from Brownells.
I’m going next year, darnit. Things should be settled down here enough that I can get away for a week. Hells bells, I’m retired, what am I worried about? LOL. Have to get 1-2 co-drivers/ FRiends from this area to go along.
I had a Browning .380 Cadet many moons ago. Sold it, too heavy and too big.
Back then .380 ammo was crap, now, so says Tim, it’s very competitive with 9mm.
I’ve been wanting the new Kimber .380 1911 but can’t find one.
I have been meaning to post a prepper thread on this...
for your cheers or jeers...
Troy is pricey but the Tritium is really cool.
Hiya Mr. 6,
I used a cutoff disc on an angle grinder to cut the doors and get rid of the flue up the center.
