Unfortunately this important news story about New York City's strict gun laws including an expanded ban on assault weapons, were deemed constitutional, broke on December 31,2013, updated on January 1, 2014. Being New Year's Eve and all, I hadn't been checking the latest news as I usually do. But a bit earlier I went through my email looking for Breaking News Stories I was shocked to see the story where New York City's restrictive gun laws were considered constitutional. And so immediately did a FR article search but hadn't gotten any results so I went ahead and posted it just now.
As far as the story is concerned it got to be reported here at FR about two weeks late. But nevertheless the story has been posted in keeping FReeperss informed on the latest gun news.

“....strict new gun laws, including an expanded ban on assault weapons, were constitutional....”
I am not a lawyer but can anyone explain what kind of reasoning this judge used to come to that conclusion or is his ruling based on “gut feeling”?
