Records Show Christie Administration Canceled Meetings After Jersey City Mayor Didn't Endorse
Wall Street Journal ^ | January 13, 2014 | HEATHER HADDON

Documents released Monday indicate that meetings arranged between top commissioners to Gov. Chris Christie and Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop were abruptly canceled without reason last year—providing evidence of Mr. Fulop's claim that he was cut off after he decided not to endorse the governor.

The documents viewed by The Wall Street Journal through a public records request showed communications between Mr. Fulop and Christie administration staff members arranging the meetings in June and July, until the commissioners all canceled one meeting after another.

The documents don't indicate why the meetings were scrapped, but Mr. Fulop has said that he was punished for declining to endorse the governor. Mr. Christie attended the Democrat's inauguration in Jersey City in July, and Mr. Fulop's advisers had considered endorsing Mr. Christie, a Republican, but ultimately didn't.

When will the MSM figure out that I don't give a crap about New Jersey road closures or what New Jersey politicians are mad at each other?

This is more important than a corrupt and politicized IRS, the murder of American diplomatic personnel or the epic failure of the Regime's signature "achievement"?

Cancelled a meeting?? Uh I don’t think that’s so unusual.

Obama announces every week how he wants to work with the republicans, and then refuses to meet with them.

This one is silly.

Sounds illegal to cancel meetings just like that and not re-schedule them.

Why isn’t Christie in hand-cuffs?

Adults don’t want to spend their days around these vermin, so until all of them can be expunged don’t expect adults to volunteer for the sacrifice.

The bridge closure was a scummy move, but canceling meetings is normal political games.

If you do what the guy above you wants, you get facetime that makes you feel important. If you don't, no meeting for you.

What silliness that this is news.

Guess just because you hug the Chief Phony in the White House, you are still game if you are a Republican.

This is HARDLY news. Probably goes on ALL THE TIME. My guess is the Dems do the SAME THING when they are in office.

WHINERS!!!!

I agree completely.

I noticed that this erupted in the headlines just after Fallujah was lost.

Fallujah = one day story. Lanes closed on local highway = wall to wall coverage.

Disgusting.

Sometimes I think this entire thing is a little field test by the Dems to be certain of the level of R support they can expect Christie to have. Why wouldn’t they want to run against Christie since he’s so divisive for our side? Why bother to take him out now?

The Fallujah story is so disturbing on so many levels.

At the end of the day it reminds me of Vietnam, where the Democrats were determined to give the communists the victory and dishonor the sacrifices of so many.

The Democrats of the state of NJ can appoint a special prosecutor to look into this boondoggle, yet our own federal govmint won’t appoint one on Benghazi?

Yes. That's why the MSM wants to stay far away from Fallujah. It completely destroys Obama's credibility on war issues.

Heaven forbid that that Fallujah should be the headline rather than a few lanes closing on a highway!
