During a live interview with former Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Monday's NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer suggested that criticism of President Obama in Gates's new memoir was endangering American troops overseas: "As this criticism is leveled by you in the book of the commander-in-chief, the acting commander-in-chief, at a time when some 40,000 U.S. troops are in harm's way, do you think that by calling him into question at this stage it is either dangerous or dishonorable?" After Gates rejected the notion, Lauer insisted: "But you don't think it undermines his credibility with the troops he is commander-in-chief of right now?" At the top of the show, Lauer teased the interview: "Robert Gates on his new memoir and his criticism of President Obama. Is it fair with U.S. troops still in harm's way?"

If the same book had been written about Bush or Reagan Lauer would have been calling Gates “Admirable” its only a no no when someone dare criticizes the media’s messiah

Gates should have walked out on the stage with a big glass pitcher of Kool-Aid, in the classic smiling pitcher. He could offer Lauer a glass and say, my brand of Koolaid taste better, and it doesn’t reduce the intellect like that stuff you’ve been drinking. Wanna try some?
Wouldn’t be wonderful if someone just knocked matt’s teeth down his throat.
Anyone with a brain would know that Obama, the Democrats, the Media, and establishment Republicans despise our troops.
Otherwise:
1. They would initiate a plan to win the war or they'd leave. It's unethical to have people die for a mission you have no interest in pursuing.
2. They would fund troop salaries, veteran promises, and retiree deferred compensation the way they promised.
3. They'd never have had families told the government refuses funding for the return of remains of loved ones.
4. They'd never have blocked veteran memorials
