Neil Young Slams Canada's Leaders, Big Oil for 'Killing' First Nation Communities
Billboard ^ | 1/13/2014 | Etan Vlessing

Posted on 01/13/2014 12:50:06 PM PST by Dr. Thorne

It has all the hallmarks of a Hollywood thriller: Big Oil mines Canada's vast oil reserves upstream from a First Nation community, while one man, a rock legend, spearheads a legal fight to avert environmental catastrophe.

That rock legend is Neil Young, who on Sunday said Canada's leaders are ridding Alberta of its First Nation communities with its giant oil sands development.

"We are killing these people. The blood of these people are on modern Canada's hands. And it will be the result not of a slow thing, but a fast, horrific thing if this continues," Young said at a press conference, citing alarming environmental destruction.

Bingo! Harvest Moon and Powderfinger were the only things he did that I could listen to or include in my sets.

He had one, that is. He kept it stored in a warehouse with all of his original recording tapes, memorabilia and his collection of guitars. The “battery” on his hybrid sparked a fire that burned the whole thing to a charred mass of carbon.

I’ve often wondered where do these people get all their wisdom. He sings songs, actors portray someone they are not.

Gotta wonder what was the environmental impact while generating the million dollars that car cost. If he could have gone without that extra million and driven a hyundai, imagine all that could have been saved in record production, heating/cooling of studios, paper for album covers, gas for tour busses, and the list goes on.

Mr. Young’s guitar stings come from OIL.

The discovery of Oil, saved the whales.

Oil, and it’s by-products save and extend life.

As an old Neil Young fan, I hate that he is so F***ing clueless.

It certainly leaves me Wonderin.

When I need advice on science, I always look to rock musicians first.

He he. Right after listening to a Hollywood celebrity with fake boobs and a face lift. That includes the women, too...

I was trying to remember what year he based the LincVolt on, and was thinking to myself I'd hunt him down and choke him if he had based it on a Mark II.

Of course, even if you're a brain-dead liberal, you know better than to base such a beast on a car as rare and valuable as that.

And of course, the whole “carbon footprint” of all that food and “other stuff” for the road crew.

"...The ACFN does not oppose Alberta's oil sands development outright, and operates companies that service the province's energy sector centered in Fort McMurray. But the First Nation community wants oil sands development that protects treaty rights and traditional land uses.

In other words the tribe wants all the money for themselves.

If Neil wants to get revenge on Shell he should visit them in one of his electric cars and park it in the executive lot. Then when it catches on fire it'll take the whole parking lot full of cars with it.

Andrea Shea King played this a few weeks ago at the end of her show, so I looked it up on youtube. Mrs. ShirleyP came in while it was playing and started crying.

Exactly. They just aren’t getting a big enough cut. They aren’t worried about it otherwise.

Evidently poor Neil doesn’t know and didn’t learn most towns and cities in Canada and America began as rowdy places, but as families moved in, banks were built, churches put in place, homes with gardens civilized the rowdies. Now we’re seeing the same boom towns, some grown, and some areas just beginning, as time goes by and people settle in, they too will become civilized. It just takes time. HURRAY for the oil and shale, loud trucks, business in the oil fields.
