Chris Christie has problems, but he’s still atop the 2016 GOP presidential field. For now.
Washington Post ^ | 01/13/2013 | Chris Cillizza

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie just endured the worst week of his five years in elected office, battered by a scandal involving traffic jams as political payback and implicating several top — and now former — aides.

And yet, Christie still holds down the top spot in our rankings of the 2016 Republican field — a sign of both the considerable strengths he retains in the race and the lack of an obvious challenger to his dominance.

Make no mistake: Bridge-gate has hurt Christie and slowed, badly, the considerable momentum he built during a sweeping reelection victory in 2013. But, assuming that no other revelations emerge linking him to the closure of several lanes of traffic in Fort Lee, Christie remains the candidate — with the possible exception of former Florida governor Jeb Bush — who is best positioned to build the coalition of major donors, party activists and GOP elites necessary to win the nomination.

Really ? I wasn’t polled. I wouldn’t vote for Tubby for dogcatcher, nevermind Governor or President. The Tea Party base is clear: Ted Cruz in 2016. Accept no substitutes.

He always was. The Socialist RINO Establishment is fine with their Stalinist Democrat allies occupying the White House. Hence why they’ll keep putting up one ringer after another... McQueeg, Willard, Fatass...

Washington Post will back him all the way to the nomination, then slam him down with a pile driver if he wins it. Its the Liberal press picking the candidates for the GOP with only one goal in mind, to get Hillary Bin Ghazi elected.

The RINO Wing of the GOPe refuse to face reality. They are marching in lock-step with their RAT Party Brethren.

Good.

We The People will DESTROY them in November.

Christie has ZERO chance of winning the nomination. He’d have a better chance if he changed parties and ran as a Democrat.

I’m happy that he is #1 now. Whoever is leading now will not be at election time.

Watching Rove on Hannity's show now.

He's very upset. Imagine this: he's very upset at Hilary. No reaching across the aisle...

So this is good. Very good.

EVEN Karl Rove mentioned Ted Cruz on BOR's tonight.

This traffic jam thing is bad, but the media bias is worse. Obama was never vetted like this, and he did many things which were far worse.

He named Cruz, Rand Paul, Rubio, Kasich and one or two others as contenders along with Christie.

They are trying to knock off *our* number one candidate.

They say he’s the only one who could beat Hillary.

They go after all our good RINOs.

The scenario was that those guys wouldn’t fold like cheap suits ala Romney: that those guys also know how to fight democrats.

Of course, Cruz and Rand Paul also know how to fight the GOP-e.
