The Weather Channel says it may be dropped from DirecTV’s lineup as soon as tonight when a carriage agreement between the two expires, removing the channel from some 20 million households.

The network launched a campaign Saturday featuring a website and social media push encouraging viewers to contact DirecTV and members of Congress to keep the channel on the satellite provider.

Whining to Congress? Jeez!

Comments at link say it all. The channel is turning into reality TV and a mouthpiece for globaloney warming.

I watch it muted, so I don’t have to listen to the GW crap.

I have DirecTV and I rarely tuned into the overly dramatic Weather Channel.

GOOD RIDDANCE!

Could it be due to a truthfulness problem? Hope so but doubt that it is anything other than a money problem...too bad.

The last time I tuned in to the Weather Chanel was to watch hurricane Katrina.

They should call it the Advertizement Channel. Since NBC took it over it has even gotten worse.

I stopped watching TWC when they went global warmer, but I would have stopped anyway because they never showed useful weather anymore. It was always “storm stories” or weather from somewhere else in the country. Instead of waiting for 20 seconds of local weather every 15 minutes or so, I started checking online whenever I wanted to know. Now I can check the weather on my phone anytime I want in seconds. They were great back when they were the endless loop blue screen of local weather and smooth jazz, but who needs TWC anymore?

I’m so old, I can remember when the Weather Channel did the weather.

That's why they went over to "Storm Stories."

But a lot of the time, here in New England, I want more detail than what my phone can offer, and I will tune in for a detailed report "on the 8's."

During the summer? Not so much.

Is it just me or does it seem that TWC increases the amount of commercials it shows during bad storm outbreaks?

I highly recommend the paid version of “Weatherbug” if it’s available for your phone. I don’t think TWC’s local blurb has anything on it in terms of information, Doppler loop included.

I remember when the Weather Channel had some hot gals that did the weather. I haven’t watched in several years so I wouldn’t know. I get all the weather info I need off the smartphone or if I need more detail I get on the laptop. I can read a weather map and radar loop

And now they got Al PantLoad Roker who seems to be a prima donna who never shows up for work half the time.

They still have the Weather Scan by the Weather Channel, which is what the original channel used to feature. That’s all the “Weather” channel should or needs to be.

I look out the window. If there is ice on the windshield I wear my gloves and jacket, if there is water on my windshield I get out my umbrella, if the sun is shining on my windshield I wear a short sleeve shirt. The fear of the weather reminds me of the global warming scam, same dummies that do not seem to under stand that the weather changes. My forecast system works for me.

The only good viewing on the WC is Amanda on the Prospectors.
