What is Going On With Jobs? We are not just talking about a bad month.

Everyone agrees that the employment report last Friday was very bad. Unemployment went down to 6.7 percent, but that was because the Household Survey showed that 347,000 people left the labor force in December while only 144,000 found jobs. In a healthy growing economy you are supposed to get the work force increasing faster than the actual employment, as people join the labor force confidently looking for work.

If you look at the data for the five years since President Obama was inaugurated, you can see that we are not just talking about a bad month. It's all bad, from the giddy inauguration to the latest vacation in Hawaii.

The chart shows the seasonally adjusted percent participation of the civilian population in the labor force and percent of the civilian population actually employed. You can see that for the last four years the employment of Americans has chugged along at about 58.5 percent of the civilian population. Meanwhile the labor force has steadily declined. More and more Americans have given up looking for work.

Now we know why people have always worried about witches: the president cast a spell to tell the oceans to stop rising and instead he got the labor force to retreat.

This is surprising to anyone paying attention to the mainstream media. After all, the president has pivoted again and again to jobs. You would think that all those speeches would have made a difference.

So here we are, at the end of five years of Obama. The U.S. population is 317 million, according to the Census Bureau; the "Civilian noninstitutional population" is 246 million, the "Civilian labor force" is 155 million, and the "Employed" is 145 million according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That's your Hope and Change for you.

Like someone else recently said, when I heard Obama was going to focus on jobs, I didn’t realize he meant he was going to make it harder to get one.

It’s all part of the plan to drag this country down.

What’s going on with jobs?

This is an easy question to answer with America’s manufacturing base a mere shadow of its former self.

Jobs are relegated to the ‘on hold’ file due to the importance most politicians place on the expansion of big government. This, of course, includes both parties as they’re in bed with each other as any American with a functioning brain knows.

Most of the government agencies tacked on subsequent to 1913 should be abolished. Especially Education and EPA.

Until corporate taxes are reduced to zero and the abominable agencies that prey on businesses abolished the decline of America will continue. In fact, it will speed up!

The only shovel-ready job Obama ever created is Jay Carney’s.

When people begin to realize that Obama hasn’t “screwed up”...that what has and is happening, wasn’t a mistake...The way the country is going is right in line with his (and his handlers) plans... All this unemployment, poverty, racial turmoil was all planned carefully and brought to fruition by this regime... This WAS NOT an accident!!!!!

Once the real American people realize this and have had enough, we’ll have to stand and deliver...It won’t be pretty or fun...but it will be neccessary....

What is Going On With Jobs?

They all went to Red China and other Third world pits. Red China has over 100 million workers in their manufacturing sector alone.

Free Traitors have ruined this country.

Employers are using automation and process refinements to restructure their businesses to PERMANENTLY run on fewer people.

Not going to take the risk of future Obamacare mandates, paid time-off mandates, living wage ballot initiatives, or anything of the sort.

Why would anyone hire right now? I was kinda surprised to see a jobs section in the Sunday Coupon News.

Democrats created incentives that encourage people to sit on their butts and cheat the system.

So, people are sitting on their butts and cheating the system.

From the graph it's pretty easy to see where we are headed.

We need to do something quick that all politicians can agree with - like giving amnesty to 30 million or so illiterate illegal aliens so those figures will look better!

BS. Germany has some of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world and they don't have unemployment problems like we do. And German workers make a lot more than American workers.

The true unemployment rate is 22 to 24%, 92 million are out of the workforce. That’s over 20% right there. Subtract 4% for frictional unemployment from the 6.7%, and you are at 23%, conservatively.
