New Delhi, India (CNN) - A light-weight gun named after an Indian gang rape victim has triggered a wave of criticism from advocates who call it "abhorrent."

Last week, an Indian state-run gunmaker introduced the .32-calibre revolver, made of titanium alloy, calling it a "valuable contribution to women's security."

I see India has the same sort of whiny gun control whack jobs as we do here in the US.

They would rather see a woman get raped, beaten and even killed before allowing them to defend themselves.

Wrong message

Binalakshmi Nepram, founder of the Control Arms Foundation of India, described the new gun as “an insult.”

“Women in India feel this gun is not going to help in security,” she said. “And we do not believe the gun is a solution to ending sexual violence.”

She added that it sent the wrong message. Rather than prioritizing security for women, “the government is introducing expensive weaponry to sit in handbags. It’s an abhorrence to women,” she said.

Translation: WHAT! You want us to be capable of defending ourselves. Why don’t you put all of the ‘potential rapists’ in jail or something like that.

Looks British....like a old Webley.
good for them...wanting their women to be able to defend themselves.

It’s a sort of strange-looking thing, but looks good.

I suspect this “only 10 sold” is the liberal media creating a pre-production spin.

“the government is introducing expensive weaponry to sit in handbags. It’s an abhorrence to women,”

Right. Better off just sitting there and being a target. Using force to defend yourself against a violent attacker might just make him angry. (Sarcasm)

Typical liberal drivel and typical write up by Communist Network News (CNN).

India has Gun Control Nazis, too...

I may not be an expert in such matters, but rapists tend not to rape when parts of their brains are splattered out of their head...

Looks serviceable. The Webley and Enfield revolvers were good guns and handled very well. Just looked odd to Americans.

A simple, reliable, pistol in a calibre having minimal recoil so that smaller people can handle it is much preferable to either a big pistol that can’t be controlled or no pistol at all.

The Indian gun-control groups ignore M. Gandhi’s condemnation of the British for having deprived Indians of firearms many years past.

When the aggressors know they are LIKELY to get hurt or even die, they somehow manage to restrain themselves from attacking.

Politicians like Bill Clinton or Hillary lesbians hate rape control.

Exactly.

We’ve had very few episodes of the “knock-out” game here in Florida where there’s concealed carry.

The one reported incident didn’t end well for the kid who started it—Trayvon something-or-other.

I have yet to read about a shooting at a gun show.

Is that rape rape, or just rape?

I see you are Australian, we Americans have fairly recently found out that there is rape as performed by a liberal, this can be forgiven and doesn’t necessarily even need to be punished.

Then there is rape rape, this would be a different kind of crime requiring the most severe types of punishment.

I don’t know if these rules are international and would affect other country’s statistics. We would need a qualified liberal to clarify this for us.
