Glenn Beck Challenges Writer to Read 'Lone Survivor' Review to Navy SEAL's Face
UPI ^ | January 15, 2014 | Evan Bleier

Posted on 01/15/2014 2:22:14 PM PST by lbryce

After she wrote a critical review of the new Mark Wahlberg film, Lone Survivor, Glenn Beck offered to fly LA Weekly reviewer Amy Nicholson to his studio in Dallas so that she could read her review to Marcus Luttrell, the former Navy SEAL on whom the movie is based.

“I mean this sincerely -- I will fly you first class,” Beck said. “I will put you up at the Four Seasons … You will dine on the finest possible food, and you will come in here and you will sit down and speak these words to Marcus Luttrell. If you have the bills to say what you just said to Marcus Luttrell and back it up, go for it.”

In her review, Nicholson described Lone Survivor as a “jingoistic snuff film” that preaches “brown people bad, American people good.”

Glenn Beck, conservative television and radio host, speaks during the Tea Party Patriot Audit the IRS rally on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol on June 19, 2013 in Washington, D.C.

"If you have the 'bills' to say what you just said to Marcus Luttrell and back it up, go for it," Beck says.

The review comes down to this one line liberal-speak.
In America these days, everything has been reduced to “brown people bad, American people good.

Usually when a liberal gets all preachy, virtiolic in righteoous indignation, it's brown versus white, exclusively. But to underscore the rampant racism run amok, the reviewer takes it a whole other notch more extreme. It's like racism is so pervasive, the browns are still losing ground.

Now it's browns versus the entire American people.

In America these days, everything has been reduced to “brown people (bad), versus American people (good).”

Why can't we all just get along? Asked in an about-to-break-down-and-cry-squeaky-high-pitched-cartoonish voice.

PC (politically correct) has absolutely nothing to do with truth. That would be why the “PC” moniker came into fashion.

Amy Nicholson is just a working girl, speaking PC, knee deep in pleasing effeminate men and masculine women, for a check in the mail.

I understand that feeling. But that’s what allowed them to gain credibility to begin with. See the Global warming/Sierra Club nuts for a case study.

They must be mocked and humiliated at every turn. With the facts they twist and ignore. And it’s easy as hell to do. But people just don’t want to ‘offend’ and so we are where we are.

Nope..we should not humiliate as they do. Simply expose with good attitudes and strength works wonders. The truth without irritation burns evil badly. They must annoy and make the right angry, that is where they get their life. Don’t respond to their evil in that way, then expose..when appropriate. That author od simply sick ..very sick and we should have so.e empathy for her soul. It just is so whacko, why give here the time of day? Because it is ratings fed radio I think is the real reason

Having spent several years doing exactly what I described to the greens, I can tell you that it works very well. What stops it from working, and us from winning is the Queensberry rules BS that our own people are determined to lose by.

Perhaps you just misunderstand my intent. When a ship filled with global warming idiots gets stuck in a SUMMER ice EXPANSION, I believe we should ride that horse until it drops. Do you disagree?

Yeah...maybe we should just give up on Glenn because he isn't perfect all the time.

Beck does get a little over-the-top with his emotion and drama at times, but IMHO, that's just a byproduct of the passion with which he does everything.

Like most people, Glenn's a package deal and you either have to be willing to take the bad with the good, or just forget about him altogether.

See my tagline.

The left feeds off the right and the right reacts and feeds off of the left...not so much difference in many. All I am saying is sometimes leftist are just writing so kooky of things, that they really want a reaction from us. Sometimes just ignoring them is good...not always. But even when we expose, there is great strength with a good will even for our enemies. That doesn’t mean weakness, it means standing up with the guilt of anger attached...very powerful.

My experience is that the little crazies grow into bigger ones. Remember back in the 80s when the whole PC craze really got going? Could you have imagined that we would be closing tens of millions of acres over bugs?

It was really whacked out libs that people refused to put down immediately that built on their insanity and eventually put tens of thousands out of work, wrecked lives, caused divorce, even suicides.

Every youtube video with nutcases crying over a dead tree attracts more confused bleeding hearts to the cause. Ignore them and have more land closed, oil pipelines stopped, more Pacific North West fiascos and a thousand other things.

There are no lesser crazies just as their is no lesser evil. Crazy and evil must likewise be opposed when and wherever they happen.

When good men do nothing...

"No, he ‘isn’t perfect MOST of the time. He’s 99% hype and 1% result."

I think that's the very same type of hyperbole you're accusing Glenn of.

"And unsure of his homosexual stances. Among other things."

Admittedly, I don't get to listen to Glenn's show in its entirety every day as this work/job thing tend to interfere, but recently, about the only sympathy I've heard from Glenn towards gays has been in regards to a Russian bureaucrat saying they should be thrown in ovens, and today he played an audio-clip of some DA from the 1950s who was pledging to hunt down gays and throw them in jail. I happen to agree with Glenn that both of those were a little excessive, but I hardly consider myself as being sympathetic with, or supportive of the homosexual agenda. I've read some commentary about Beck supporting gay marriage, but haven't heard his direct commentary on it, and I prefer to hear such things from the source, in context, so I can't really comment on it, but if he did, I certainly disagree with him on that count, but given the totality of his efforts in organizing mass conservative events, redefining conservative media with the Blaze, bringing together Levin, Hannity and himself for more focused efforts and churning out volumes of pretty well researched and written books, I'd say that his "1% result" is more than most people achieve in a lifetime.

Back in 2000 when I was Ed at Off-Road,com, we exposed the local chapter of the Sierra Club advertizing a 4x4 expedition into supposedly closed land. Think about that for a min.

I had the SC legal Defense lawyers on the phone regularly demanding we take down the articles we wrote about it under threat of suit.

We refused and in turn, wrote several articles about those phone calls.

Strangely they stopped. Imagine that.

Which distracts conservative every time he does it. When they could be making real progress.

Some of those times I think people backed out on Beck

As for the gay bit, he’s said he doesn’t want them sent to Russian ovens and doesn’t want them to be fascistic in their behaviors. I am cool with that, too. I just don’t want perversion shoved in my face—since it appears to be on the rise.

Yes. I am defending Beck. He’s wrong on the BC, though. Flat out WRONG.

Women like this will be the first person to tell men they can't have an opinion on abortion because they've never been pregnant. I like to tell them they can't have an opinion on Iraq/Afghanistan because they've never worn the nation's uniform.

Truth be told, for either of us to accomplish a whole lot right now, we really ought to get off FR where pretty much everybody agrees on the core principles, and get out where people need some preaching/education and conversion.

Outside of that, I'm not arguing. I'd like to think my posts have promoted/recommended Beck's books, the Blaze network etc. and let the readers make their own opinions.

That's how conservatism gets advanced.
